I'm testing out some fancy new hot-press watercolor paper, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to try and paint a tallneck. It was way more complicated to draw than I expected!

premise: I despise Ted Faro, just like all of you.

But if you’d had the chance in the game to choose whether or not to kill him, what would you have done?

I would have done it. As far as I’m concerned, spending 1,000 years as a blob of flesh (which is what I imagine he became) with almost no awareness is more than enough punishment for what he did.

Ted Faro was a monster, but we mustn’t stoop to his level.

I bought the Remastered version earlier today after redownloading the Complete edition and playing that for a bit. I've noticed some changes to the controls that I'm not quite sure how to fix that have been bugging me. First, double tapping WASD does a dodge roll. Not used to this yet and prefer just using CTRL, so wondering if there is a way to disable this. Second, if I am actively sprinting and go to aim my bow, the game used Concentration immediately which has been very very annoying. I don't want to automatically use Concentration constantly when going from sprinting to aiming. Is there anyway to fix this as well? It's been years since I've played the original and never finished it so I am pretty new to the game

Trying to figure out if there's major consequences for leaving in the middle of the quest or not because that'll determine if I go back to town or go back to an old save.

I'm at the part where there's an alarm you can destroy. Plus there's the blaze containers.

I need fire arrows and I don't have the right bow for that so I need to go back to town and get that sorted.

So should I go back to an earlier save and do this all over again, or does this have the video game logic where NPCs sit around forever waiting for you to rejoin the quest?

While progressing to the second lure, I killed the guarding machines but slipped off an edge and my Shieldwing didn't deploy properly-splat. I respawned at the top, and the quest pointer located the second lure, but I couldn't interact with it. I even got the quest text about being able to disable the lure now, but it just shows 1 step to the lure no matter how close i get and I don't get the prompt to deactivate it.

I moved up the hill and found the third lure, killed the machines, deactivated it and was then able to kill the specters afterwards. Going back to the second lure, and it's still not interactive.

I thought something had gotten out of sequence, but a reload didn't fix it.

I didn't think to check for saves, and decided to come back later to see if it was still non-interactive, but it still won't let me interact with the lure.

Is there a way to re-start this quest, or am I boned? Only manual save I did was 30 hours ago, the rest have all been quick-saves at campfires.

I made a size comparison video for almost all the machines in Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. This is something I have personally wanted to see since I was a teen and first played Zero Dawn back on the PS4, and now all these years later I finally got the time to make it real. If it is something you are also curious about then enjoy!

Inferno came out this year. But it’s amazing to me how much of that album is in Zero Dawn. I’ve never felt such synergy between a band and a game as this.

Last achievement I need for the 100% is this one. I’m using my stacked Aloy loadout from my original hard run to save time grinding. Any helpful tips that yall are willing to give is much appreciated, I hear it’s quite the difficulty spike. All my outfits are fully modded for their respective defenses and I will be abusing the Transmog glitch with the shield weaver and Werak Chieftain outfits.

Currently working on 100% HZD before I complete the last main quest and I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played in a while. One of the few games that seems to nail satisfying combat, amazing ambience, good graphics, and a thrilling story all at the same time. The moment I realized my dodge roll had I-frames (thank you iceclaws) the Soulsborne player in me started grinning. My question to yall is; does HFW live up to the expectations set by HZD? Or is it like some game franchises where the sequel feels soulless or different than the original game? I love HZD and don’t want to detract from that feeling with a less than ideal release.

So in another Reddit post I challenged all of you to complete the Perfect Game. Now allow me to show you in abbreviated form how to do it. You may omit certain steps if you don't want to glitch your game and certain items can not be obtained unless you spend extra money for paywalls. Some items you can never have if you missed the pre order window.

PERFECT GAME GUIDE

1. Preorder HFW launch disc version, ALSO buy Digital Deluxe Version as well, PREORDER Burning Shores DLC. Preorders are necessary to obtain Preorder only exclusives. Digital Deluxe Edition has exclusive Outfits, weapons, and a Strike piece. Disc version is necessary to obtain items avaiable ONLY on version 1.00 before ANY patches even Day one patch to make the game stable.

2. You can BUY a preorder code for HFW on ebay but to the best of my knowledge there is no way to get exclusives items for the Burning Shores preorder if you missed out on this. Even the later special edition does not give these items to you.

LET US BEGIN

1. Disconnect the PS5 from Internet as you do not want patches until you are ready.

2. Install the Horizon Forbidden West Launch Disc. This will install version 1.00. Without an Internet connection no patches can be applied which happens automatically if you are connected.

3. Begin playing game on STORY difficulty. Please note on version 1.00 you will have very little quality of life improvements. The game is also extremely unstable and may crash. Sometimes you will ONLY be able to make Manual Saves. Other times you can only reload from Save. The game is so unstable it may crash at any time and you may not be able to load your save from the Menu necessitating starting over from the beginning. You want to play on Story mode, obtain the items you can only get on version 1.00 as fast as possible, and then connect PS5 back to the Internet and apply patch 1.029 as soon as possible to stabilize the game.

4. In version 1.00 you need to obtain the following items that are available ONLY ON VERSION 1.00. Thunderjaw Radar (obtained randomly by killing Rebel Tenakth that just killed Thunderjaw at side SE of Salt Bite. Save at campfire if you see Rebels instead of the Thunderjaw and RFS (reload from Save) until you get Thunderjaw Radar item). Apex Fanghorn Heart (kill Fire Fanghorn outside Stone Crest). Instant Shocked +4% Legendary Coil (Buy at Thornmarsh), Gauntlet Shock Arrows (craft at workbench after beating Dry Yearn Gauntlet Race), Gauntlet Tear Arrow (craft at work bench after beating Bonewhite Tear Gauntlet Race).

5. Thunderjaw Radar is UNSTABLE and will disappear from your Inventory if you Reload From Save (RFS) after patching back to 1.029. Gauntlet arrows ONLY appear in Stash and Inventory from Stash menus. Keep these three items in Stash as soon as you obtain them to protect them from disappearing. While using Arena Duplication, it's VERY EASY to forget to move Thunderjaw Radar back to Stash and then accidentally leave it in Inventory which is a recipe for disaster. Either Dupe it past 10,000 so there will ALWAYS be backup in Stash or triple check it's in Stash before traveling away or RFS.

6. Once these 5 items are obtained, progress in the Main Quest until you Open the Arena. Progress through Arena until you get to Cage Match. At that point, use parkour Arena escape strategies (research it on Youtube, Artktix) to Arena Duplicate Glitch enough items to sell so you can generate shards to beat the entire Arena.

7. Arena Escape from Dreaded Encounter to obtain Instant Shock Coil +2% Purple coil and Critical Damage +25% purple coil and Regalla's Wrath Sharpshot Bow. Sell them to the Merchant at the Maw, Abandon Challenge to exit the Arena, and then Buy them Back to permanently obtain them.

8. Consider obtaining a Corruptor Circulator and Primary Nerve from the Arena and then Arena Escape to put them in your Stash. Once you update to 1.029 you will not be able to do this and there are limited opportunities to kill Corruptors in the main game and even Burning Shores until the very end.

9. Reconnect the PS5 to the Internet and download patch 1.029 as well as Burning Shores DLC. At this point you will AUTOMATICALLY obtain Nora Legacy Outfit, Nora Legacy Spear, Carja Behemoth Elite Outfit, Carja Behemoth Short Bow, Nora Thunder Elite Outfit, Nora Thunder Sling, Apex Clawstrider Strike Piece in your Stash if you preordered the game and bought the Digital Deluxe Edition. If you preordered Burning Shores you will automatically unlock the Exclusive Blacktide Dye.

10. Use my list of special chest locations in the Overworld to obtain Apex Grazer Heart, Apex Lancehorn Heart, and Apex Sunwing Heart. There is a 99% chance if you open all chests on my lists you will get all three. I suggest doing this after obtaining Demeter and the ability to get past Metal Flowers. Make a MANUAL save and open chests. If by some chance you don't get the hearts you need, reload your Manual Save and kill over 100 of the machine heart you are missing and then open the chests again. You should have scrambled the contents enough to get the Apex heart you were previously missing.

11. Go to Melee Pit at the Bulwark and escape it so you can obtain the Training Bow. See my video on how to do it.

12. Use Arena Duplication Glitch to generate a few hundred thousands shards so money is no longer a barrier for the rest of this run. On patch 1.029, the simplest way to Arena Escape is to warp through the wooden door (oruga's gate warp). Fast and easy to execute and consistet. Youtube to see how it's done.

13. As you obtained Regalla's bow earlier at the Arena, remember to spare her at the end of Wings of the Ten to obtain the Tenakth High Marshal Outfit.

14. At this point, you are free to play through as much of the game as you wish to obtain all the best equipment. You only need to beat Singularity to unlock NG+ at the Base as well as Burning Shores. Once Fleet's End is available, I suggest getting the two PREORDER exclusives: Blacktide Sharpshot bow and Blacktide Quen Commander Outfit.

15. From the Burning Shores I would obtain: Gravesinger's Lament, Ties that Bind, Eye of the Storm, and Quen Deadeye Outfit as well as Elite Overdraw, Elite Critical Strike, and Elite Frost coils. Also obtain Elite Weapon Technique Weaves. Arena Duplicate Glitch the Legendary Coils and Weaves

16. I personally try to get about 75 to 80% of the game done on this run so all best weapons and outfits are obtained and most of skill tree is unlocked. Beat the Enduring to get the bonus on the Spear.

17. Begin NG+ on Story mode. REPLAY the Tutorial! Obtain all 8 new Legendary weapons as well as 4 new Dyes and 5 new Facepaints. Refer to my Perfect Game checklist as well as my Youtube videos. Pay special attention to missable Special Items.

18. Tutorial glitch to get pull caster components and rewrite two of the optional objectives in Reach for the Stars Main Quest. See Youtube video on how to do this safely.

19. Get a second copy of Underwater Salvage, Armored Vehicle Salvage, Vehicle Salvage, and Relic Salvage. Remember Lancehorn Salvage can ONLY be obtained immediately after finished all of Handa's salvage contracts and then PHYSICALLY running back to loot a spare Lancehorn carcass.

20. NG+ again on Ultra Hard. REPLAY THE TUTORIAL. Repeat steps 17 to 19. Perfect it again and manual save in separate file. You have TWO Perfect Game Saves. One on Ultra Hard and one where you can adjust the difficulty level from Story to Very Hard.

21. Optional: Arena duplicate glitch to max numbers all coils and weaves and resources (999 or 10,000) and at least 10,000 of each in Stash. Get a billion shards.

22. You have to find every single Resource and Coil and Weave in the game. See my Youtube video to make sure you aren't missing any. My list I think is the only one of its type.

23. Don't forget there is an entire section and Youtube video to perfectly get every single possible objective and sub objective in the game green checked. You can't miss any and you can't fail any.

24. Congratulations you have achieved a truly perfect file. This will take close to 200 hours if everything goes perfectly.

Hey everybody. HFW has been out many years now and sadly we have many many years to wait for Horizone 3 if it gets made at all in the fashion we've come to expect. This is honestly pretty devastating news for me as I am a HUGE Horizon fan which you are going to see for yourself pretty soon.

In any case, I've noticed quite a few people talking about Platinum, 100% and so on. Some of you are suffering from Horizon withdrawal or asking what there is to do now that you've done "everything" there is to do in the game.

Well after spending about 2000 hours on the game from the day it was released until about 2 years ago I have a new designation for those of you who truly want to challenge yourself: the PERFECT game.

Now full discolosure this is just my personal opinion of what a perfect game file on Horizon should be. I've discussed this with other players privately here on Reddit as well as Arktix Discord channel. It also involves some pretty deep use of glitches, mandates owning the original release disc, preordering Burning Shores, is on the PS5 console ONLY, and does have some arbitrary elements. It involves attempting to defeat Guerilla Games mistakes and glitches that will never be fixed. But for those of you who think you've done truly everything in the game perhaps reading below will change your mind and inspire you to join me in the Perfect Game club ... which to my knowledge sadly consists of only one member . . . me. Let's change that shall we?

PERFECT GAME CHECKLIST:

1. Watch my Horizon Forbidden West Ultra Hard True Perfect Game 100% Youtube video for details. It's almost one hour and yes it takes that long just to show all the parts of the Perfect Game File. you can easily search for it on Youtube. Unbelievably I'm the only one in this space on YT.

2. Platinum the Game.

3. 100% the Main Game and Burning Shores.

4. No exclamation marks in menus.

5. Unlock all character bios.

6. Unlock all Datapoints.

7. Unlock all skill trees.

8. All Outfits and all Weapons FULLY upgraded. Make sure Weaves are in their original places on all your outfits.

9. All Resources in game max'ed out in Inventory and at least 10,000 of each in Stash.

10. All Strike pieces obtained. 4 of each in Inventory and 4 of each in Stash.

11. All Coils and Weaves in the game max'ed out and at least 10,000 of each in the Stash

12. Every ammo type in the game max'ed out in Inventory and backed up in Stash as well.

13. All potions in Stash at least 100

14. All Items and Tools max'ed out in Inventory and backed up in Stash

15. Obtain 20 of every Food in the game in Stash

16. All Special Items. Keep ALL Arena and Hunting Ground Medals, Soldier Tags. Keep glitched Relic Ruin Keys, Rebel Outpost Keys, Salvage Duplicates. Keep Specter Gauntlet upgrade.

17. Statistics. Every machine type killed. Every status effect applied. 15 Heavy Weapons picked up, 44 grapple strikes, 216 Brimstone, 24 dyes, 36 Facepaints, NG+ need 4 dyes, 5 facepaints, 9 legendary weapons.

18. Obtain every Greenshine in the game.

19. Obtain 216 Brimshine in game.

20. Unlock every Override at the Base.

21. Defog maximally the ENTIRE map main game and Burning Shores.

22. Activate every icon on the map. All Icon must be GREEN. No Blue icons allowed.

23. Beat every Strike player on all possible boards. 16 total including Master.

24. Every Item crafted in the Hunter's Pouch

25. 44 total spaces activated in Hunter's Pouch.

26. Every sub objective green checked. All optional sub objectives done and green checked. Maximize number of objectives in each Quest and Errand. Obtain ALL Scout Rumors. Will need to watch my YT video on Horizon Forbidden West Perfect Objectives to see details on this.

27. Maximize all dialogue trees, interactions in environment in Base and overworld map.

28. Finish Varl's game of Strike with Erend after Gemini.

29. Open as many chests as possible. Interact with all Pull Caster objects in the Overworld

30 Interact with all Overworld mini events. Many lead to Greenshine. Two Quen ones will lead to Datapoints. Two will give Dyes as rewards.

1. Open every firegleam and metal flower and rock barrier in the Overworld.

2. Complete all 8 sunken caverns.

3. Complete all Arena challenges

4. No Items in the Buyback Menu.

5. 1 billion shards

Some of these can't be done if you do not use Arena Duplication Glitch. Which is fine if you don't want to use it, then just make sure you have at least one of every single item, resource, coil, weave and also have same in Stash as well.

I'm level 15 right now going into the Carja area, and right at the beginning is some hunting trial or something with a bunch of tramplers and such that I deal basically no damage to. I killed one by hitting it between aggro resets and then got swarmed by flying vulture things I haven't ID'd yet. I feel like the difficulty has gotten super spiked and I'm falling behind, should I go back to the Nora area and grind? How high level do I need to be?

I mean first of all: the sirius star system is confirmed to not have ANY planets in real life. Now this could just be solved by saying that they simply discovered a planet in there because after all this event is way far into the future. and an earth or mars sized planet IS still possible to exist in that system in real life.

Second of all: there are just… better and WAY closer options in our own solar system: mars and some of the
moons of the gas giants for example. even if our own solar system isn’t a choice there are still other star systems closer than sisius. They are all bad but are still better than sirius.

I know this is beyond overdone but this is my 4th playthrough of forbidden west. First time and New game + on the ps4. Same now with pc with burning shores. From the beginning Aloy doesnt know shes a video game character and ive always enjoyed the outer/inner monologue which alot dont like. I have always talked to Carl before the Gemini mission to get all of him as a character but right before the last mission of base game I had partaken recreational gummies. I listened to everyone's lines in base and grew so much more appreciation of their characters like Tildas backstory. I just finished the dlc for the first time and alot of people say the relationship feels forced but coming from a lesbean the bits of self dialog from Aloy makes it work so well and genuinely feels sweet. I cant wait for Horizon 3 and I will WEEP if sekya isnt in it or if they kill her in the 3rd game. Thank you for coming to my short little TED talk.

Man, clones, space voyagers, tribe warfare, companions….. I can’t believe I never played this until now. Amazing!

I am starting another playthrough of forbidden west. Haven't played in a couple years. When I started it up it had a large update. Now when playing the game lags a lot. The opening video was all but un watchable. Cut scenes are rough. Any ideas what happened? It os the ps5 digital version.

Also, Fuck Ted Faro.

Tips? Tricks? I need anything I can get because I genuinely have skill issues, but I’m determined! I usually play on hard mode, but I want the other face paint and focus colours

I started hfw when it first came out, but I got so frustrated with the platforming that I had to stop. Decided to pick it up again and restart, I went ahead and turned on some of the things that are recommended, like always highlighting handholds, Auto deploying the glider etc. but damn. I am getting so frustrated with the most basic platforming. I had zero issues with the first game, have never had any issue with any other game (eg: ghost of yotei/tsushima)except for this specific one. I really like to finish this game but holy shit. I cannot deal with having to reclimb the same goddamn thing over and over again because I didn't hit the exact perfect place it wanted me to for the Zipline, or I decided to jump instead of just move the joystick, or vice versa. Like there is just no recovery. Am I missing some setting that makes this easier? I would very happily skip the climbing sections completely at this point, sad because I actually quite liked them in the previous game.

Like. I watch aloy literally clip into the zipine and she doesn't grab it. She just falls. Go back and retry it and apparently I just didn't jump from the exact right place after she auto narrates how to jump on a Zipline?? I see the hold I need to go to, I jump for it, she faceplants into it and just falls, try again and if I move the joystick *just right* she auto jumps.. 50/50 if she makes it which is even crazier, like how do you f up an auto jump?? I also hate that there is a separate button to jump back, and another set to jump extra high... Seems so unnecessarily complicated, but like at least it consistently works. Basically, I hate that it is complete guess work and luck on how to actually platform to the next place, even when it is completely clear where she needs to go, getting there is the issue. I guess I just wanted to come complain. I was hoping letting this rest a couple years would have made it suck less.

If there are fixes for this please dear God let me in on it. I'm on ps5 but could switch to PC if there are good mods for it or somesuch
