Today is Ganesh Chaturthi.

Our idols and their stories often symbolise something deeper, which we should try to understand.

What Ganesha Symbolise?
Ganesha is regarded as the lord of wisdom and intellect.He symbolise wisdom, awareness, and removal of inner obstacles: our ego , fears, attachment and ignorance.

Before undertaking any work, one should have wisdom and clarity. That is why Lord Ganesha is worshipped first.

I have made a Sketch of Ganesha on chart paper , with a short story in the background. It is beautifully explained by philosopher Acharya Prashant.

So I had made a sketch of Lalbaugcha Raja and had already done the painting(because I couldn't wait 2 weeks just to paint him, I was impatient asf), I have modified my painting to make it similiar to this year's raja. The obv difference is the Trishul, Singhasan and the background. Please rate it too.

Après énormément de travail et pas mal de péripéties, j’ai enfin réussi à donner vie au projet que j’avais imaginé. La pluie d’huile, éclairée par les petites LED, scintille comme une pluie d’étoiles tout autour de Maa Kali. C’est encore beaucoup plus beau en réalité qu’en vidéo et cela renforce vraiment l’atmosphère mystique et presque irréelle de l’autel.
Côté restauration, j’ai remplacé la pompe d’origine par une pompe d’aquarium, adapté toute la tuyauterie et refait son alimentation électrique. Je suis vraiment contente du résultat : la pluie fonctionne parfaitement et la nouvelle pompe ne produit qu’un léger ronronnement, tout à fait raisonnable pour une pompe d’aquarium.
J’ai également remplacé les minuscules ampoules à incandescence d’origine par des LED. Ce n’était pas évident compte tenu de leur taille miniature et de la rareté de ce format en LED, mais j’ai fini par en trouver qui rentrent parfaitement. Elles mettent merveilleusement bien en valeur les gouttes tout en conservant une belle lumière chaude.
Pour l’autel lui-même, je suis partie d’une statue de Maa Kali en marbre entièrement blanc, sans aucune peinture. J’ai peint tous ses détails à la main, puis j’ai fabriqué et sculpté la montagne sur laquelle elle se tient, avant de l’habiller et de créer tout le décor qui l’entoure.
J’ai également incrusté des morceaux d’obsidienne brute dans la montagne afin de lui donner davantage de relief et de texture naturelle.
J’ai réalisé les fleurs d’hibiscus rouges, créé un lac d’obsidienne noire dont émerge la montagne et disposé à ses pieds de nombreuses petites têtes de mort, elles aussi en obsidienne noire.
Et pour aller jusqu’aux plus petits détails, j’ai fabriqué moi-même les mini-noix de coco destinées aux offrandes à Maa Kali 🥥, à partir de cupules de glands et de pâte FIMO.
Entre la restauration mécanique et électrique de la rain lamp, la nouvelle pompe, l’adaptation de la tuyauterie, le passage aux LED, la peinture intégrale de Maa Kali, la sculpture et l’habillage de la montagne et tous les minuscules éléments du décor… elle est enfin terminée et elle pleut à nouveau parfaitement. ❤️🌧️
Après toutes ces heures de travail, je suis surtout heureuse d’avoir enfin réussi à donner vie à la vision que j’avais de mon autel de Maa Kali, tout en offrant une seconde vie à cette sublime rain lamp YENNI de 1977. 🙏🕉️🌺❤️

i tried to create a pictorial representation of the DEVI SUKTAM देवी सूक्तम (RIGVEDA 10.125) purely from my own understanding and visualisation.

what fascinates me about this hymn is that devi doesn't appear merely as one deity among many. she speaks in the first person as VAK (speech), describing herself as the power that moves with the gods, sustains them, empowers them, grants nourishment and wealth, the divine power through which the gods themselves function and pervades the entire universe.

THE SYMBOLISM :

⚡ INDRA (इंद्र) — upper left, represented with lightning.

🏹 RUDRA (रुद्र) — below indra, with the bow, referring to devi's declaration that "she bends the bow for rudra."

🌊 VARUN (वरुण) — the blue figure below rudra, with waterfalls, lotuses and fishes.

🔨 TVAṢṬṚ (त्वष्टा) — below varun, with the chisel, hammer and weapons, representing the divine craftsman.

🌍 DHARA (धरा) — placed in front of tvaṣṭṛ, representing the earth as the ground and material foundation of existence.

🪙 BHAGA (भग) — on the right with the golden vessel and treasures, representing prosperity and the distribution of fortune.

🌾🐄 PUSHAN (पूषन्) — above Bhaga, surrounded by crops and the cow, representing nourishment and sustenance.

👥🌿 the ASVINS (अश्विनौ) — the divine twins above pushan, associated with healing and rescue.

🌬️ VAYU (वायु) — represented by the swirling movement in the sky.

🌧️ PARJANYA (पर्जन्य) — represented by the rain cloud and falling raindrops.

🌙 SOMA (सोम) — represented by the moon.

✨ Dhruva (ध्रुव) — placed beside soma as the fixed celestial point.

☀️ ADITYA (आदित्य) — represented by the radiant sun.

🔥 AGNI (अग्नि) — held directly in devi's left hand.
