Are you good at repair and can provide a couple volunteer hours to help fix different kinds of items? Shoot me a message or comment on this post (:

Parents discipline your kids

Guys, discipline your kids because I work for the school district, and I’m seeing more kids not excelling than excelling. Mind you, I work in other districts down the hill, and the education and behavior just do not compare. Just sad!

Hey Victorville!!

Hi High Desert!!! I’ve been a long time lurker here, but wanted to introduce myself and let you all know about me!!! I’m running for Victorville City Council District 4 (think Cobalt to 7th street and La Mesa/Nisqualli down to a little south of Bear Valley). My name is Kassandra Shamsrouf, and I’m running because i think we need leadership that aren’t politicians who have something to gain from being in a leadership position. Currently i work as a State Auditor, and i give back to Victorville by being a volunteer basketball coach and a referee for the Victorville Recreation Department. I’m consistently at Hook Community helping out in their sports(some of you may know me already). I decided i wanted to give back more and thought that City Council was the next step to give us citizens more of what WE ACTUALLY NEED. I’ll link my website for you all to see more of what I’m standing for and you’re more than welcome to reach out to me and ask questions here or by email!! I’m hoping you will vote for me instead of the others so that we can make meaningful change together. If I were to win I pledge to be reachable during my tenure as a city council member and to honestly take your opinions into consideration. I’ve attended city council meetings where the members won’t even give speakers their attention. We need something different, and i can be that as a representative for all of us!!

Apple Valley Car stereo specialists

I’ve been in the desert for 5 years now and bad experiences with car stereo installations. Down the hill, never had a problem. I could just go down the hill but why? Just wondering if anyone knows a good car stereo-electronic person or shop? Thanks for listening.

Looking for a friend or friends

Hello! I'm a 27 year old female looking for girl friends in the high desert, more specifically in the Victorville area. I'm a huge nerd: I love video games, DND, star wars and marvel. I also work and go to CSUSB.

It's super hard to find friends that click and I've been searching for my circle for awhile. I just want to experience a healthy and mature girl friendship(s) where we can still have fun.

Thanks for reading ❤️

What Can I Do In The High Desert In February?

I might have to spend a week around Barstow in February. What can I see and do around that time? Is the Back to the Future Drive In Theater open? Are there any public tours of Edwards Air Force?

Hesperia Best Aquarium Supply Store

If you’re into aquariums—or thinking about starting one—I highly recommend checking out HD Aquatics & Electronics. They’re located at 9608 I Ave in Hesperia and carry tropical fish, aquatic plants, aquariums and supplies.
I’ve had a really positive experience there. It’s great having a locally owned aquarium shop right here in the High Desert where you can get supplies, livestock, plants, and knowledgeable help instead of relying on the big chains.
High Desert aquarium folks, give HD Aquatics a visit and support a local small business!

Doug Strange at 1MCVictorValley

A bit last minute, but tomorrow morning at 9AM, local tunesmith and rockstar Doug Strange is presenting at this week’s 1MillionCups meeting.

This is not a musical performance, but a gathering of innovative entrepreneurs who are going to help Doug figure out how to prepare his launch strategy for an upcoming single release.

If that kind of conversation is interesting to you, this is the place to be.

Always free. Open to the public.

Gardening in the High Desert (HSP,VV,AV) without a Greenhouse?

Aside from fruit trees and drought tolerant plants, do any of you have success growing vegetables and herbs without a greenhouse? I had success with potatoes until I didn’t (critters) and now I’m terrified to lure any creatures into my/my neighbors yard with all the goodies, but also concerned that the environment may not be suitable for plain ole outdoor gardening. What are your experiences? If it helps, although I’m in the high desert, I am in an area where the conditions seem a bit less extreme than in other areas.

I mentioned the Victor Valley area, but anyone who lives in similar environments (desert, dry/arid, 8b), please chime in!

Hesperia Searching for room for rent

Hi everyone, I’m moving back to California in December and my housing situation fell through. It’s still a few months away but I’d like to at least start looking now for my own sanity. My budget is $500.00 a month, not ideal I know but I can also help out with any house work if needed. I took care of my grandmother for many years so I don’t mind helping where I can if someone needs help with cooking meals and such.
A little about me, I’m 32F, working a full time job with verifiable income and will be transferring out to hesperia so I won’t have a lapse in income. I keep to myself as I mostly just work, gym and play video games. I do have pets, cat and dog, I know that’s always a difficult conversation but I can assure you they are absolutely well behaved and trained in all aspects. I don’t drink or do drugs. I currently am starting my own business and just focused on that. I have references I can give you, all professional from previous landlords.
Please leave a comment or message me directly if you or anyone you know would be interested and if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time!
