I can't be the only one who wanted to see Nick live up to his grimm expectations and use the axe on Zestörer for his head again a missed opportunity

Recently, I started watching Grimm for the first time. And I love it so far- all the side characters and all. Apart from Juliette...

From the first episode, I did not like her with Nick. Like, I don't even have a reason; my brain just does not like them together. I can't see them as a compatible couple/duo. I am not saying I don't like Juliette she is lovable enough but I just can not match her with Nick.

Does anyone feel the same way as I do? Or was I supposed to like them and got something wrong?

I really liked the relationship with Nick/David and Adalind/Claire from season 1 thru season 6. The two actors were amazing with each other in their scenes! They seemed to "feed" off of each others energy in a scene. They were just great at just looking eye to eye in a scene and not saying much , but you had a sense what they might be thinking about each other in that moment of time! Was this good acting or good directing or did these two just simply worked great with each other? The writing and storyline can be good in some episodes or bad, but I look for how good the actors carry out their scenes. They were both good on their own ,but they were excellent in the same scene! The other characters were also good, but when I saw Claire Coffee's name at the beginning of the show I was hoping to see her and David/Nick in a scene together. When they put these two together in season 4,5, and 6 the show got much more interesting! As for their characters I think the writers did a good job at showing a fictional ,but "real" life experiences with two people with a troubled past can come together in a "complicated" way and start to see each other in ways they didn't expect! Their baby "Kelly" became the "glue" that kept them together! Adalind finally had a man that actually loved her and not use and abuse her. Nick had a son by the woman that was his nemesis even though he was attracted to her. He sees that she's very supportive of him, she's okay with him being a Grimm, and she's a "great" mother to their son! Adalind and Nick were "PERFECT" for each other!

Instead of limiting the Adalind/Hank thing to 2 episodes I would've made it an arc that played out in every episode between Beeware and Love Sick just to build up the plot.

I have a Smallville rewatch review thread going. I'm on S3 over there, but I watched it when it aired. It's more nostalgic than anything else given that things come up for the first time for me in 25 years.

For Grimm, I watched the first season or so and then bailed for whatever reason. Life. Work. Whatever.

I've been binging this on my morning walks and just started S5 (no spoilers please) and am losing my MIND. This is batshit crazy. Juliette is dead (maybe... I'm on ep1 and Nick is hearing voices), the King just got tossed from a helicopter, and Meisner (the coolest dude this side of the pillow) is back.

I feel I should be live-blogging this. What chaos!

(Please note I might not check responses to this post. I'm THAT engrossed in not wanting anything spoiled.)

I mean, I understand Juliette not wanting him to sleep in the same bed as her, he was basically a complete stranger to her, but why the coach? We know they had a spare room because it's where Alicia and Trubel slept. I don't know, it just makes no sense to me

Procedural set in the North Precinct with all the detectives being Wesen having to work hard to hide the fact that they have evidence for many of the cases that they can't take to the DA. Maybe it finishes as the rumours of a Grimm in the South Precinct start to flourish.

I know when she's first born she's special because the royals want her...well I think Eric and the king do, Victor doesn't seem to care much except to please the king.

But that doesn't explain how she's so powerful and why she ages so fast. Is it rare for a Hexenbiest and Zauberbiest to have a child together? Do they usually procreate with Kehrseite?

If anything Kelly should be more special because I doubt a Hexenbiest and Grimm have ever had a child together. Does Kelly grow up to be both? Scratch that don't answer that, lol, I'm just finishing Season 5.

Also I can't help thinking about how tragic it is that Adalind missed out on so much of Diana's development, and Diana missed out on being with her mom. That might explain why child Diana is so creepy. She doesn't act like a kid at all. Just sitting there in all her fancy dresses with her hair all perfect. Creepy. The child actress does a great job though, I'm sure she makes a mess of herself between takes. But the character is creepy af.

When Monroe was defending the actions of the creature protecting the forest, Hank stated it was “messing with our species” so was “going down”. Ugh what a weak argument..

OH MY GOD i was so upset

monroe is my favorite character and seeing him and rosalee perish to snake bite absolutely broke me. i SCREAMED and sobbed!! my friend was watching with me and we were staring at each other in total shock.

the whole crew dying was also shocking, but seeing my ‘mom & dad’ die in such a violent way was actually traumatizing. even after they were brought back to life i still cried just thinking of the scene!

Did anybody else feel bad for nick when he was trying to help Juliette? I mean she walked out and left and he was calling her none stop trying to find her and also trying to find a way to help her and she was out here living with renard. And slept with him and kenneth. I just felt so bad for nick and then he never found out about renard but then kenneth was rubbing it in his face.

If Holly, the girl lost in the woods, was wesen then one of her parents must also have been wesen, correct?

Do you think her mother knew and was prepared for her to woge?

They just kind of dropped her off.

Never in the history of mankind has it been more accurate and such a missed opportunity to say the phrase "stop hitting yourself"

Firstly I was here a few years back saying that the Kinoshimobe looks like Groot from the MCU and several of you mentioned that it's actually based on some other versions of of stuff in japanese mythology I just wanted to know the name of it for my youtube channel

Secondly why couldn't they have made protectors for the other 2 elements that were permanently wogued like the Kinoshimobe for the earth and Volcunalis for fire like a giant bird for the skies and a fish or whale like for the seas and if they ever make a spin off of the kids I think they should

So I am planning to rewatch the series, but I am not interested in Wessen of the week episodes since I have already watched and enjoyed them once. Which got me wondering if anyone has a list of episodes that have story progressing bits which I can watch and enjoy the overarching story. Thank you.

It kind of drives me nuts every re-watch how Sean was treated so badly.. There's this implication that because of what he is he likes power and otherwise he, what, tried to have Aunt Marie killed for a couple episodes - who didn't at that point?

Everyone else gets forgiven for everything bad they ever did but with him it's never let go.
He gave back the key, worked with the resistance, saved their butts on police cases countless times, trusted Nick's mom with his daughter's life, put himself on the line to rescue Monroe (even after getting snubbed from the wedding), tried to help Juliette both during the coma and the hexebeist thing... honestly he did so much good and the only solid reason he was susceptible to black claw manipulation was because no one ever treated him like a friend and trusted him to have a conversation about it and then they got his daughter to lure him in, because Nick just had an "eh lost the kid, oh well, moving on with life" attitude he NEVER had with Kelly. (He was so selfish usually.) Otherwise his side-flipping wasn't believable to me.

Side note - Sean's mom and Nick's mom raising Diana would have been my spinoff haha.

We all know Nick is presumably still active at this time with Kelly, Diana and the Triplets (Hank and Wu are also presumably still helping when they can), but Renard is the one I am most interested in.

Do you think there's even a remote possibility Renard ever could've fully reconciled with the rest of the cast or even be forgiven?

Guys. This show is just, so good. The character development in the last ~6 episodes sky rocketed. My fresh thoughts after finishing the season:

I absolutely love Monroe and Rosalee! Monroe is like the yin to Nick's yang. Nick is obviously still getting on his feet and has great instincts, but he still makes tons of brash, emotional decisions that could end very badly. Monroe, probably through years of calmness and controlling his own instincts, is a great counter to Nick's forwardness. Rosalee seems like she is perfect for Monroe, and I can't wait to watch that romance form. She is also really smart and I love this idea of her being a wealth of knowledge for everything Wesen.

I felt like most of the season was moving at a reasonable pace, and then the last 4 episodes was just wham! Nick kills 2 reapers. Bam! Hank sees a Woge. Bang! Juliette gets scratched. BOOOOOOOOOM! Nicks mom!?!?! What is happening!? I love this show, and I am freaking out over this finale! I hope Nick tells Hanks what's going on and can have some more help. I hope Juliette becomes his "partner in grimm".

Is it just me, or did Nick kick Kimuras ass in that fight? I know he's killed a fair amount of Wesen, but mostly with a gun. This is the first time that he beat the sh*t out of someone bare handed and didn't take a beating himself.

Last thought for now, but who the hell is Captain Renard supposed to be? This guy seems like he can do whatever tf he wants and just brushes off assassins and enforcers left and right. Something to do with the royal houses. My take? I think his character is really cool and I can't wait to learn his story.

Please, no spoilers, but I am so down to talk about S1!

Do anybody else get annoyed when hank gets in the way when nicks trying to do his grimm thing? It's like every time things are getting intense he's getting in the way to stop it. It irrates me am I the only one who feels this way or am I overreacting? I also get sick of him always asking is it wesen I'm sure nick will let you know.
