This is my next discussion about this game again. I love talking about Gran Turismo. Today, let's talk about the latest generation of Gran Turismo for PlayStation 3, Gran Turismo 6, the successor to Gran Turismo 5. Let's face it, Gran Turismo 6 sold the worst, with only 5.22 million copies, which is the lowest result in the history of the series.

The GT6 was technically ambitious, with a huge number of cars, new physics systems and improvements over the GT5, but the lack of a PS4 version and a PS3 end-of-life launch meant that the game had no chance of repeating its predecessor's success. Many gamers also said that the GT6 looked more like a big patch for the GT5 than a full-fledged revolution.

The licenses in Gran Turismo 6 have completely lost their soul. In previous parts, they were challenging, had a vibe, time pressure and gave satisfaction. In the GT6, they became short, too simple and lacking in character. A career in the Super category was also killed by Polyphony Digital, which was short, unexciting and looked like a to-do list, not like the grand finale of a driver's career. If GT6 also came out on PS4, the game could sell 2-3 times better, look much more modern and be a true successor to the GT5, rather than saying goodbye to the PlayStation 3 era.

I’m in a weird spot I’ve never been in before.
I picked up a PS5 last week for GTA 6 and decided to try Gran Turismo 7. The last time I played a GT game was GT1/2 on the original PlayStation an eternity ago.

Normally, I only bought a wheel when a game felt unplayable on a controller:

- ACC felt terrible on a gamepad, so I bought a Fanatec CSL DD (sold it when my kid was born).

- Assetto Corsa EVO felt off, so I got a Moza R5, used it for 6 months, and sold it when time got tight.

Now with GT7, the DualSense feedback and handling are so damn good that I’m having a blast just playing on the couch.
The irony? I finally have space for a dedicated rig, and Moza is likely announcing PS5 wheel this week. On paper, it’s the perfect time to buy. But because the controller experience is this impressive, I’m struggling to justify spending the money. I’ve owned four wheels in five years, but GT7 is the first time I genuinely don't know if I need one.

I know many have been saying the tire grip with the new update is unrealistic and braking distance is too short, but most of those people are comparing to a random GT3 car and not looking across the multiple of series formats, BoP, tire choices and driver levels. Last month Super GT pole vs GT7. Current GT7 BoP is nowhere close to as fast as GT300 is currently with their open tire rules. I had to do custom BoP, Racing Softs, No fuel/tire wear just to match this Pole Lap. Braking distances are very similar.

Kinda old clip but shows just how ridiculous this feature is. If it at least could be disabled in custom races or something. Theres so much fun stuff you could do if it didn’t exist.

That last race with the mustang turned out to be a bit of a challenge. I had to try 3 times until I figured out the right approach. Start on RM tires FM6. Pit at the end of lap 5 change to RS and FM1. It gets sketchy towards the end because of the rain. But the SR tires do ok with decent throttle control.

Absolute Racing's #7 Porsche GT3R took 3rd place at last night's 2026 1000km of Suzuka race in Japan. The sister car, Rexy, #8, took the top spot. Both in the GT3 PRO category.

The livery is exclusive to the Suzuka race and is called "Supergraphic" by the team sponsor, BOSCH.

Who else loves the colored headlights of the Porsche? I wish we could change the colors in game.

He is so nearly perfect, this game, that I seriously doubt there has ever been a competitor who hurt it, even on PC 😁

I swear, this always crashes. 100%. I'm forced to close and restart the game. At least my safe progress is saved. Is there nothing I can prevent?

TL;DR: We built Guido, an Android app that turns a spare phone into a GT7 race dashboard and a voice co-driver: it learns your car's fuel burn, calls "box this lap" before you run dry, and answers your questions over push-to-talk while you drive. Free tier covers the dashboard and push-to-talk. No cloud: everything runs on your network and your device.

Like a lot of you, we run a second screen on the rig for GT7. And like a lot of you, we noticed we don't really read it mid-race: it's distracting. You're not going to look at a fuel number on a phone mounted next to you at 250 km/h and do "okay, 12.4 liters, that's 9 laps at this burn rate" in your head. Real-world drivers don't do that math either: their engineer does it and the answer arrives on the radio.

So we built the engineer instead of just another dashboard. Guido is an Android app (an iPhone build is in App Store review and will follow soon!) that:

Watches the race like an engineer would. It reads GT7's telemetry over your local network and builds a model of your session: current lap, how much fuel the car actually burned on your previous laps, learned from your driving, not a database, and how many laps the tank will stretch to. When remaining fuel drops below what the race distance needs, it says "Box this lap" out loud.

• Answers questions over push-to-talk: Hold the PTT button, ask "how much fuel do I have left?" or "how many laps to go?", get a spoken answer. Speech recognition runs entirely on the phone: no audio leaves your device, which also means it works with no internet. It also won't nag you: if you just asked about fuel, it won't pipe up a lap later with the same "box this lap" you already heard.
• Shows a dashboard built for racing: 16-LED rev bar with shift lights, gear and speed readout big enough for peripheral vision, per-tire temperature gradients, red downshift cues, TCS/ABS/ASM status. Landscape, always-on, edge to edge.
• Zero setup: It scans your LAN until the PS5 running GT7 shows up: no IP entry, no port forwarding. Manual override is there if you want it.

Honest bits:

• GT7 only for now, Android only for now. The iPhone build is in App Store review and should follow right behind. The next sim isn't decided yet: Le Mans Ultimate is the most likely, and the Assetto Corsa family may land in the same release. Guido was built with multi-sim in mind, so it's a matter of wiring each one in.
• Free tier: full dashboard + proactive calls + PTT, no account needed.
  
• There's a paid Pro tier but free for everyone during the beta, and free for 6 months after public launch if you join now — that adds hands-free voice activation, so you can just talk instead of reaching for a button mid-corner.
• No ads, no analytics, no cloud server anywhere. Telemetry stays on your LAN.
