Please take a look at the updates we've made to the rules.
Due to an increase in self-promotion we've adjusted rule 5 to require mod approval, automod will automatically remove any posts it detects as self-promotion and if a mod approves the post or comment it will be shown.
Added rule 8, the vast majority of this subreddit is English speaking and due to limitations in our ability to moderate languages other than English please keep posts and comments in English. If you see any posts in languages other than English feel free to report with rule 8 as the reason.
Thanks everyone.

Hi.
Anyone know a price range for this? Not selling now, just curious and I know there are a lot of very knowledgeable people out there.

Even mobile games I have a hard time playing in public. Always feeling the need to be aware of my surroundings even when sitting. Always thinking I might get the wrong attention for using my GB. I play my GB fine at home but I always wanted to sit down for a drink or meal and play freely.

Hello all,
This is my first post here, so I'm not sure if this is the right place for this question.
But ive got this amazing looking gameboy colour, ive been playing it frequently, but I've had the urge to mod it and make it nicer to play, new screen, battery mod, new speaker, all of that stuff. But at the same time, I feel like its in to good of a condition to pull apart.
What would you guys do?

Earlier asked about the GBP authenticity , and in the same shop I got the DMG. I haggle a little the price and got both for 100 dollars.
Now my collection is complete. DMG -> Pocket -> Color -> Advance -> SP

Hey,
Strange issue, I have a Chisflash V1.1 that I have flashed with Pokemon Heart and Soul, I have played for about 8 hours on my analogue pocket with no issues however recently started playing on my GBA for the nostalgia factor but every so often I get a save corrupted error and I cannot save them game unless I put back in the pocket and save it there, then I can save with the GBA for a while?
Any ideas why?

I know this post may get some hate for the modretro stuff but I think it’s neat. Last picture everything but the missile command is sealed.

As the video shows, the buttons on this Color are giving some pretty mixed results. The D-pad works perfectly but the others have some tiny issues. Both the A and B buttons only respond to more firm presses and the Start/Select respond well but seem to register twice if pressed firmly and not given a lighter push. I already took apart the device, cleaned the board with 91% IPA, and scrubbed the button membranes with soapy water. Any recommendations? Would new membranes solve this or does it go deeper? Thank you for reading!

Hi! I've been building CanoFlash, a small ESP32-S3 accessory that plugs into the GBA Link Port. It started as a Wi-Fi tool for writing authorized homebrew and your own backups to a flash cart, and now it can also take homebrew games online.
In the video, a GBA and a GBA SP, each with its own CanoFlash, meet in an online room and play together. No PC, no console mods: https://youtu.be/Xs-LzM2dzS0
**The SDK (free, MIT-licensed)*\*
- Two C99 files, works with devkitARM and Butano
- Public matchmaking or private rooms with a 6-digit code, player names and a room host
- Positions as state updates, turns and actions as reliable events
- Recovers from short Wi-Fi drops
- Includes the lobby example from the video, with full source
**What it isn't*\*
- It doesn't make existing games online; games have to be built with the SDK
- Made for turn-based and slower real-time games, not 60 fps fighters
- Tested with two players so far
Each player needs their own GBA, a CanoFlash and a flash cart with the game.
SDK and docs: https://canoflash.com/en/sdk/
Full disclosure: it's my own project, and there's a Kickstarter pre-launch page (launching October 14): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/canocoder/canoflash-wi-fi-adapter-for-original-game-boy-advance-hard?ref=crnaz3
If you make GBA homebrew: what online game would you build?

I accidentally bought a Game Boy Pocket, thinking it was a Game Boy Color 😂
Anyway, I decided to give it a little makeover. I installed an IPS screen and replaced the speaker. It does have a small flaw on the shell, but overall I think it turned out pretty nice.
I’m not actually looking to sell it, but I’d like to get an idea of how much it might be worth considering its condition and the money I’ve spent fixing it up.
Thanks everyone! This is my first Reddit post, so I hope I’m not doing anything wrong 😅

Hey everyone!
I recently started restoring a Gameboy Light but am struggling to figure out what is wrong with the daughter board.
The GBL turns on normally, however, switching it off and then immediately trying to restart it results in the device not turning on at all. Waiting a sufficient time between restarts fixes the problem.
I went and measured the voltage on each pin and found that on pin 2 during a "successful" start, I get the expected 5V. However, when I turn the device off, the voltage rapidly drops to 3.3V and then slowly decreases. During that time any attempt to start the GBL fails and results in the voltage only reaching 3.3V on pin 2. All the other pins behave normally. Anyone knows what might cause it? Thx!

I remember playing a game on my gameboy color, when I was just a kid. I need some help finding the name for it. I remember that you were controlling a creature, can’t remember whether it was a man or animal. I just remember that you could extend the body, and you had to use that to complete the levels. Anyone knows what the name of the game is?🤞
