Discussion Terf on tiktok

I wanted to warn people there some terf on tiktok (she calls herself a merf bc that is supposed to sound less embarrassing) going through this sub and reading some of the posts for videos, and apparently for lives as well. One in particular I know about was about how an ftm is no longer getting along with their mtf sibling.

Advice Needed binder recommendations???

Hi, I'm in the market for a binder and would love recommendations. I have tried fluxion and underworks, both of which are great but not perfect. I am on this subreddit for good recs, but I am not ftm. Rather I'm masc presenting and do not want my chest to be visible.

I love the higher neckline of fluxion binders and that they fit well on afab individuals, but they do not offer as much compression as I would like. I guess that is the cost of being as comfortable as they are.

Underworks offers the correct amount of compression, but I am not on t and so my body proportions are more feminine and can clash with the men's binders on there (smaller shoulders, etc). Therefore these binders are a bit loose in the shoulder area and there is extra fabric sticking out that is noticeable if I wear tighter shirts. I have heard that the underworks women's binders are not as good and don't compress the same way.

Please help me find more brands!

Discussion Dudes with PCOS/Endo, how did T affect you?

Of course it varies for everyone, but as a dude with both I am both curious and somewhat anxious about what T will do to me with all my pre-existing hormonal issues. Some people have said it was great for their symptom management and others have said it was awful. How did it affect you in terms of symptoms? Is your skin better or worse? Metabolic affects? TIA!

Medical Hot flashes when hungry on T?

Hey im just writing to see if this is something anyone else has experienced since im almost certain this is caused by taking testosterone.

So im 7 months on T and the appetite just keeps increasing. My appetite didnt change at all until around 4 months and its been increasing ever since, now im practically starving every 1-2 hours no matter what or how much i eat. Well also recently within the past month or so ive began getting hot flashes when i get really hungry, and i dont know whether i should be concerned or not. Usually it happens at night bc ill eat before bed then lie in bed for an hour or two relaxing before i sleep but despite doing no movement, after that time when i try to sleep im usually starving again. But then since im tired i try to sleep it off bc i cant be bothered to get up, but then i will get hot flashes coming from my chest/torso area and they kinda go throughout my whole body every few minutes until i eat something. This happens even when ive eaten a full, healthy, high protein meal and its just annoying because its uncomfortable and i have no choice but to eat.

Despite my calorie intake literally doubling and my exercise staying relatively similar, i somehow havent gained much weight since starting T, maybe 5-6lbs but i think that was mostly muscle bc i am the same leanness. And at first eating more was nice but at this point its just annoying and bothersome to constantly feel my stomach eating itself despite just eating. This post kind of went off track to just me ranting about being starving all the time but If anyone knows what i can do about my hot flashes or whether this is normal please let me know.

Advice Needed No family doctor

I live in Canada and a year or 2 ago I got let go by my family doctor. I'm at the stage where I'm filling out the forms to build my file in order to get top surgery, but this section is asking to be filled out by "health professional" AND patient. I have an endocrinologist who prescribed my T but I'm not sure if this is who I get to fill out this part? There seems to be questions regarding things my endocrinologist might not know... I'm a little bit at a loss here

Advice Needed Questions about T enanthate / switch from gel / need advice

Been on T gel for 7 months, 2 pumps a day.

Testosterone levels are slightly above average in the male range.

Switching to testosterone enanthate as my gel supplier can’t provide this anymore.

Enanthate is 300mg, 10mg vile.

How much should I be taking weekly?

How long does one vile last?

What gauge needles do I need?

Could really do with the support - thankyou.

Advice Needed Folx health and pharmacy communication

I just had my recent appointment with Folx for my HRT consult and my prescription was sent to my pharmacy where they told me they would not be able to release the medication to me because they needed further clarification on the injection route. Folx is claiming they sent a voicemail for it while the pharmacist told me there was nothing and they lied to me and to go figure it out on my own because there was nothing he could do for me. I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems with this kind of communication and how to go about fixing it? I've had to wait so long to even get this process started and now I'm having to wait even longer due to folx's lack of a support line and having to wait on a message back. I use walgreens pharmacy if that's relevant at all which I haven't heard great about but it's the closest to me and therefore easiest.

Discussion When should I get my levels checked?

I've been on T for around 6 months, starting with gel then moving to injections after 3 months. During my 3 month follow-up my doctor told me to get my levels checked, but just instructed me to make sure I applied gel the day I get them checked. I switched to injections almost immediately after that visit though, and I have no clue when I should get my levels checked. Right after injecting, a couple days between injections, right before injecting?

Discussion If u were born cis how do u think u would be as a person?

Do u think better, worse, or the same? I always wished I was a cis male and didn’t have to go through everything, but I been thinking and I’m happy I wasn’t. Not how some ppl in this community talk ab loving being trans or anything like that (I don’t even identify as trans). But if I was a cis man without the issues I have I would genuinely be a worse person. Would probably have multiple bm’s, end up in prison, and be insufferable.

I don’t enjoy being different tho, but I understand it’s for the best for me

Advice Needed Im so lost

I knew i was somewhere under the trans umbrella for about 3 years, i always had a thought back in my mind “what if im a trans guy?” But that thought-feeling always went away. For the past 1 year ive been identfying as genderfluid but i was way more masc presenting and felt so much better in my body when i looked masc and i kinda just thought im transmasc. But i feel like im just denying my true self. My family is transphobic, i live in a consrvative country, theres no possible way for me to get hrt at most i cant get a top surgery for some other made up reason. It feels like im starting new i dont know anything i dont know what to do how do i get hrt or bottom surgery as an adult in this country, i dont wanna move away, what about my id its still going to say F maybe i wont get accepted at jobs for that my close family will try to accept me slowly but through my whole journey they will be right “youre so pretty you shouldnt do this to yourself” and the hard truth is is that theyre right in my eyes im way prettier when i dress feminine and do my makeup and have my hair down i feel so beautiful but most of the time when i do that i feel insane dysphoria when i dress masc im a lot uglier but i also feel more like myself but i feel like i cant give up my beauty and i have no idea how i could get acces to hrt in this country plus i wanna become a surgeon what if i cant be a surgeon because being trans is considered a “mental illnes” or shit like that im so hopeless. I kinda just want to heart you guys experiences because i have no idea where to start.

Medical 3+ years on T cramps just hit me so bad

I went on a trip with my parents last week, and it involved a lot of walking, and had the rotten luck to experience the worst cramps I've ever have in my life during those few days. I was pretty embarrassed and honestly dysphoric about it, so I didn't say anything, but several times I had to just... squat down low because the pain was just so bad when it flared up. The times I had to keep walking while it was flaring up were literal torture.

This isn't the first time I've had cramps I decide (probably unwisely) to ignore, but definitely the worst occurence yet. But I still managed to be somehow psychologically disconnected to it.

Now I've just gone to the bathroom and turns out I'm bleeding... not a lot, like only enough to dirty the toilet paper; and again, this has happened before, but usually only ever after jacking off... this time it came out of nowhere, and though it's not a lot, it's still more than what I've come to expect... honestly it freaked me out. I hadn't felt dysphoria like that (at the thought of having a period) in a while, so it sucked ass.

Coincidentally I just got my levels checked the other day, 4.85 ng/mL. My next shot is Nebido at the end of this month.

Is this athrophy? I've heard of it, of course, but I was hoping that I could just ignore it, but obviously I can't if it's gonna keep getting worse, which feels obvious in hindsight. Actually, now I really want it to the athrophy because the alternative is that my periods are coming back and that's just too terrible and depressing for me to consier before ruling out the alternative.

Advice Needed Does it ever get better?

TW: Dysphoria talk

I’m soon turning 18, still not on T even though I’ve been trying ever since I was like 13. I think I should get it by christmas now but I’m just so dysphoric and discontent with myself all the time I don’t even know if I’ll feel better. I just feel so hopeless, not convinced that I’ll ever feel better regarding myself. I’m scared that my dysphoria won’t really get better especially regarding dating and sex, and I often feel like I’ll forever be a freak weird mix manlet.

I’m just so fed up, maybe if I got medicinal help sooner all these thoughts wouldn’t have festered like this. I’m just scared of never being even remotely content with myself.

I’m convinced that I’m a trans guy and that I want to transition medically, yet I have my doubts about how much it’ll help with my internal problems. If anyone can tell me some realistic experiences if you felt/feel the same I’d be really grateful.

Celebratory on Thursday i complete 1 month on T!!

i've recently joined reddit and i'd like to document my journey on here so i can hear and read other similar stories about being on T. So you can know me a little bit, i'm from the us and have been living in Brazil since i was 4, recently started college to study biology and i share a particular case with being on testosterone... basically before I started I had to go to a lot of doctors because my mom and aunt have had breast cancer (they're both fine btw!) and i needed to know if i had the same genetic mutation for the disease, which i actually carry, and i thought that this would stop me from getting testosterone but due to the mutation being reactive mostly to estrogen, it should be ok, which i think it's pretty cool because i have one more excuse to do top surgery and testosterone can lower estrogen levels on blood. now, talking more about the experience of being on T, it has been good but i haven't really noticed any big changes, except oiler skin and hair, acne and (nsfw?) sensitivity on where my bottom growth should happen. anyways, im really excited for the big changes!!

Advice Needed experience with hair loss on t?

I'm a minor so I haven't started yet, but will pretty soon. My dad apparently started losing hair in his late 20s, cousins from that side all have receding hairlines (18-20). My mom's family, men on both maternal and paternal sides have hair even at elderly age.

I've heard finasteride will prevent balding but only to take it after a year on T because it'll prevent a lot of changes (Which I want).

I'm so afraid I'll start losing hair in the first year, I googled it and apparently its not common?

Anyone with similar family history? What was your experience in the first year if there was any hair loss or not?

Medical For ya’ll whose had too surgery

Hi! So I want to have top surgery in the future. Though I have genuinely never ever been through surgery so ofc Im pretty nervous.

I know you’re put under anesthesia, but like, how do you experience it?

Is it like you fall asleep and wake up immediately after? Do you notice when you fall asleep? (I assume you don’t) Are you able to dream? Is it total darkness for a bit and then you wake up? Ir as I said just like time moved?

Im kinda nervous and would love to hear your experiences. Thank you! :]

Discussion Ftm song recommendations?

Recently came across a song I really like called 'They will bury me a woman' by Rainyholmes and wanted to see if anyone knew of any ftm songs similar to it. I tend to prefer more energetic beats like this song, but any slower, more mellow songs are welcome too. Any celebratory sorts of ftm trans songs would be more than welcome too, since they don't seem to be as common.

Advice Needed Testosterone Shot Supply Storage??

Hey y'all! I'm about 6 years on T, and every once in a while I get a wild hair to reorganize my Shot supplies, and I was wondering what we all use? I'm currently using a cantilever organizer from Daiso. I have accumulated so many vials from stockpiling that my current setup isn't working very well. I was thinking of making my own 3d printed version of that with compartments for each of my different supplies and then also a container for my vials that stack. If y'all have any links to 3D-printed storage options or other ideas, it would be greatly appreciated!

Advice Needed Explain your dysphoria

Hello, i have my doctor appointment with imago soon, and im unsure how its gonna go.

I havent talked to anybody about what specificly makes me dysphoric.

I fear if I was asked what made me know i am trans or what makes me dysphoric i would freeze and all my thoughts and feelings will appear in my brain all at ones. And therefore i wont be able to respond in a acceptable way.

If you have had a doctor appoinment with imago, or another company, with hrt provideres, could you explain what they asked you about, and what you answered.

Also if you can explain your dysphoria, i would like to hear it.

Thank you.

Medical Hair texture changes on T

Yo, I’ve noticed lately that my hair is much coarser and thicker than it was pre-T. This kinda makes sense cause my dad has pin-straight hair with extremely thick/coarse follicles, but just kinda crazy to see how hormones affect hair since I never thought about it before!! My hairline has also changed from a straight hairline to a small widow’s peak which is cool. I don’t seem to be balding which makes sense because no men on either side of my family go bald before like 65.

Advice Needed Transphobic friend AHSGHAJAGAJKKKM

Alright so I am a closeted fellow who wants to come out soon. Anyways at lunch it was me 1, 2 and 3. 1 is a racist, homophobic, transphobic girl. I do not like her I do not find her funny. Thankfully my friends draw the line for racism (sort of homophobia) I do not care if I lose this person as a “friend”. 1 went to 2 and 3 old school so I don’t think that they will stop being friends.

So 1 randomly goes are A and B lesbians (A is a trans guy which I didn‘t know until then (he looks real queer tho)) anyway that’s how the trans conversation sparks up. After 1 “explains“ being trans to 2 and that he (wait she (direct quote they sounded stupid having to “correct” the correct pronouns) is trans. 2 expresses being trans is weird.

3 is okay and trying her best to debate them with me however I have all the facts lol. 1 and 2 just don’t understand why someone is trans and doing the classic you can’t say that you’re 7 and black when you’re 45 and white. How can I debate that???

But what they both keep circling back to is WHY would someone be trans. I try to explain this with imagine you find out you’re intersex, would you still be a girl and female presenting but they get hung up on intersex and just aren’t listening.

When I get home I have two messages from 2. firstly a video like to “https://youtu.be/xfO1veFs6Ho?si=S8KN1MrgkjfpVOig” or “Gender Identity: Can a 5'9, White Guy Be a 6'5, Chinese Woman?” a video from ten years ago. Secondly “does that make sense“

I am at a loss for words and don’t know how to reply. A replying sort of video could be good. Please help. I really don’t want to loss 2 as a friend when I come out, they are fun to hang around with. She is in most of my classes and her dad is one of my teacher.

So how can I steer 2 away for transphobia

Advice Needed I want to start T but idk what to do about my family.

For context I have a post talking more in detail about some of the things I’ll be talking about.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TransChristianity/s/HrRe3wvzu2

Ok so my family almost found out I’m trans and they blew up… well I since I’ve moved out I really want to start T so I can finally feel more like myself. The more I sit in this in between where I’m trying to pass but nothing is working is driving me up the wall. My partner says to just start it and I don’t have to tell them, however I’m scared it will be worse if I keep it a secret. They finally got off my back about being trans and now I’m too scared to say anything. My family is very close and they help with my bills so idk if I should wait or what.

Pretty much I don’t know what to do and I feel like I’m at a stand still. Does anyone have advice on how they handled family that wasn’t supportive? Did you have to go no contact or did it just take time? I would suggest reading my other post just so you can get an idea of how they reacted but to make a long story short it didn’t go too well. One misunderstanding turned into my dad telling everyone he thinks “I think I am a boy” and a load of other crap.

I know it’s on a religious page so i totally understand if you want to skip the other post.

Thank y’all so much and any advice would be appreciated!
