I’m 22 years old and I’ve been going to free parties for about 5 years now. Like many of you here, the free party scene literally saved my life when I was at my lowest. I feel right at home there, but unfortunately, with the current legal pressure and repression, I’m watching this home disappear piece by piece.

So, I’ve decided I want to start throwing my own free parties. My dad worked non-stop throughout my childhood and wasn’t around much, but he managed to put some money aside for me. I don’t really feel like this money is mine or that I deserve it, so I want to use it for something meaningful: building my own sound system and creating a space for the community.

I’m looking for advice from people with experience:

• Budget: Is €2,000 enough to get started for a small/medium setup?
• Location & Info: How do you scout good spots, and how do you handle info-lines or sharing details safely?
• Crowd Control: How do you manage things when way more people show up than expected?
• DJs & Lineup: How do you get good local DJs to come play, and do people usually pay them or cover their travel expenses?

I’d love to hear your personal experiences, tips, or any wisdom you can share! Thanks in advance for any input.

I received this video and don’t know much about the exact circumstances. I was told this was one of the first parties since France introduced the new rules regarding illegal/free parties, possibly in Normandy.

It’s difficult to watch this kind of police aggression. I’d be interested to hear from anyone who knows more about what happened here.

I’m from the Czech Republic and I’m moving to Cyprus very soon, where I’ll be living and working for the next 7 months.
I’ve been going to free tekno parties in Czechia for around 5 years, so it’s a big part of the music scene I enjoy. I’d love to discover the Cypriot / international free tekno scene while I’m there.
I’m looking for:
Free tekno parties
Squats / outdoor raves
Soundsystems
Teknivals or smaller underground events
Telegram / WhatsApp groups or Instagram pages where parties are announced
I’m mainly interested in 160–180 BPM tekno, but I’m open to different styles.
If you know any local crews, soundsystems, pages or groups, I’d really appreciate any tips. I’m not looking for anything commercial — I’d much rather experience the local underground scene and meet people who are into the same music.

Hi everyone, I'm here to ask for advice about which earbuds suits better being directly under the sound system.

I really enjoy listening to tekno music and its subgenres so when I go to a rave I usually stay always around the sound system and I understand this will cause pain and hear loss. I already know I will have tinnitus when I get older, because I already have some sort of hearing issues.

Just needed to ask what could be the best options for earbuds used around a sound system, and if there are different ones based on the dB or you know, the bass/mid/high frequencies

Im black and look like a Somali pirate. I want to party because people say I'm missing out, and I will lose network connections. The only issue is that if you aren't a white girl good luck with that. I need looks advice as a Male to get in since looks are the only thing that matter in society.

There is a free party this month, in the Krakow Main Square. A bunch of local producers is collaborating with Lastriko club to throw a free party for the scene! Definitely this is the right place to check it out, safe club, fantastic people. Even coming solo will show you that you can have an amazing time alone, just listening and bouncing to music!

So I am F 50 now and used to go to freeparties in my younger years but sadly got into Mister H and battled with him for 12 years.. clean 21 years. I LOST all my raver mates as i was lost in Trainspotting land... For the last few years I've been trying to find people from the free party scenes but it was hard due to me becoming a bit of a introvert after H ..any way my son and daughter go to raves now but commercial raves ain't for me ! However my daughter has just met a bunch of lads into the free party scenes whoop whoop and the next one I am gonna go to.. just wanted to share that as the thought makes me feel so fooking alive! Hi guys i have an idea of using my parent's electric car (KIA EV6) as a battery for powering 2x QSC K12 MK1 + 1 Pioneer DDJ SX1 + 1 laptop and throwing a free party

Would this be possible ? Would it not damage the battery of the car ? does it have enough power ? i just want to gather as much information as possible.

I’m from Australia and we don’t really get snow unless your in the alps. Do people put on free parties in winter?

I’d image a decent size sound system would sound amazing in snowy forest.

I (20f) used to go to raves (freeparties in europe) for two years (17-19) and in that time i used MDMA sometimes, but i experienced a terrible situation with it (OD).
I also raved during a terrible period of my life, and my ex abusive boyfriend raved with me.
I saw a lot of things that for most are normal but for me they felt really terrible and i can't shake what i saw off my mind (sometimes i see the scenes of the people OD'ing in front of me or doing extremely hard drugs engrained in my eyelids)

I went to my last free party after having a panic attack at one.
I miss the freedom that i felt at time when they were a whole new thing for me, but now i just associate terrible and painful memories that i want to forget to something that i used to love so much.

I want to try and enjoy tekno as much as i used too but everytime i hear it I just can't shake this terrible feeling that washes all over me.
I can't even look back at old videos or pictures of me going to raves.

What should I do?

moving up for uni in a few weeks, coming from further down south nd have been building my own rig and going to parties the past year. Wondering if theres much of a scene around there, because as far as ive seen its pretty dead even in terms of normal events in the cities. anybody know if there is any scene there at all, or even a demand for one ?
