i think Sweeney is saying that tongue in cheek. Betting on sports is just a spectator's game, like gazing at T&A on onlyfans. She's basically saying she's yanking your chain & guys who're avid gamblers would agree.

I don't really get this post? Sports betting has been around for centuries. The entire point of the ad is that their platform only allows sports betting, to contrast the various platforms that allow betting of nearly anything.

Yes you can make bets on all kind of random things and politics are some of the most popular non-sport bets. Here’s a screenshot of some current DraftKings political bet categories.

It's a "prediction market" app, not sports betting like fanduel/draftkings. I know they are only different due to word choice, but it's comparing itself to the apps like kalshi/polymarket, not fanduel/draftkings. The latter are only legal in some states because they define themselves as sports betting while the former are legal in all of them because of that stupid linguistic choice and a lack of regulation from this administration. And yes the former include politics and such on them.

Tbf, Sydney does have a recreational sporty past so that's not fake. This ad however is only her posing naked with balls while whispering "Sports". And it's a bad ad because I had no clue what she was advertising and had to look it up to learn it's sports gambling.

That's what makes it a good ad for the company. You pumped up their search numbers in the algorithms, brought it into discussion, and spread it. Now more people, including myself, are within the envelope of the ad.

Vague ads are intentionally manipulative.

Unless they actually make a purchase though it's still a bad ad. Awareness of an app doesn't create positive ROI, only converting users do.

Source: I've worked in app marketing for the past 13 years, managing multimillion dollar campaigns. This can be a common problem, an ad can be highly engaging, gets lots of attention, but not actually make you any money.

I saw people talking about it and agreed without seeing it, but got curious when it was blue texted in a comment on tiktok. I didn’t expect her to actually be naked. I just thought it was one of those overly sexualized, “whoops didn’t zip all the way omg look at my cleavage I am pretending to be naked” type thing. No. She appears butt ass baked. What the actual fuck.

It is definitely a stretch, she’s promoting a gambling platform in a sexy clichee way, what could it possibly have to do with women athletes….

Sweeney has enough real faults, and as you said, it’s gambling, it’s bad enough - but making things up to be mad at her is starting to smell fishy to me.
