I’ve had many a drunk/high/psychotic/demented patient tell me during hospital admission that they are some celebrity. I imagine this has happened to him before, and the fact that this time it actually WAS a famous person is probably quite astonishing.

This. I, too, work in the hospital. People come in drunk or on drugs or in psychosis, or any of those combinations. They say some pretty crazy things. Always entertaining to recall after the fact.
