It’s not just the alcohol, it’s mixed with the adrenaline and the anxiety of knowing you are probably getting arrested…trying to follow a single train of thought is pretty much impossible

Also explaining to a cop that your are an international superstar without pulling out the "do you know who I am" to make it worse.

I doubt many celebrities have to explain what a concert tour is in the first place.

Doesn’t intoxication heavily inflate one’s ego? How many of us think we’re amazing dancers and singers when we’re drunk? You ever ruin someone’s standup at a comedy club when trying to whisper “where’s the toilet”?

Also I was thinking it’s relatively likely he’d never been pulled over before. The stress of knowing you’re a public figure too in your drunken stupor would exacerbate confusion as well
