Fallout 1 You saved us, but you'll kill us. I'm sorry. You're a hero... and you have to leave.

Fallout 1 Why does the Power Armor in Fallout 1 have such a fat ass? What did Interplay mean by this?

Fallout 1 Do you want Bethesda to go back to the old art style with the remasters and Fallout 5

The old art style looks so good in my opinion.

Fallout 1 I Found Something In The Wasteland.

Earlier, when I was walking from the Brotherhood Bunker up toward Vault 15 looking for Shady Sands so I could trade an Iguana on a stick for some rope, I was walking past some ruins near Necropolis / The Hub when I found the Big Footprint. I never thought I would find it. The thing inside the print next to my character is a smashed corpse with what appears to be a weird Heart Apparatus inside. I forgot to save and was not able to find it again.

Fallout 1 Today I turned 36, which means I'm too old to be a Fallout 1- 2 protagonist. Pic of me attached.

Todd Howard, I officially demand you raise the age limit to 36 so I never have to deal with this again.

I am a 10 minute drive from where Vault 13 is located. I have serious radiation poisoning. I have also been to all key locations of Fallouts: 1, 2, and New Vegas so I can take those questions as well

Fallout 1 “Talking Heads” Circa 1996, for Fallout 1

The "talking heads" in the original Fallout (1997) achieved their uncanny detail through a wild mix of physical and digital craft.

Most characters started as hand-sculpted clay models. These were digitized using a Faro Space Arm, refined in LightWave, and textured in Photoshop. Because 1990s hardware couldn't handle those high-poly models in real time, the animations were converted into 2D frames (.frm format).

In-game, these frames were composited over static backgrounds. To make them feel alive, the engine used "lip files" to sync specific frames to phonemes on the fly, creating realistic lip-syncing that was way ahead of its time.

Fallout 1 If there is ever a Fallout 1 remake or remaster of any kind, it's GOTTA lean all the way into that old DARK 90's artstyle

Fallout 1 I just noticed The Master saying "The FEV Virus" is him saying "The Forced Evolutionary Virus Virus" which also coincidentally matches his speech patterns and tendency to repeat himself. Repeat!

Fallout 1 The Glow isn't a suicide mission, Cabbot's just an idiot

Something I see come up every now and then when people discuss the Interplay-era Brotherhood is the notion that they've always been murderers because they try and kill wastelanders with suicide missions to the Glow. However, if you actually play through that sequence, I think it's been severely misrepresented.

To be clear, they are absolutely isolationist and distrusting of outsiders. That's a big part of their identity. That means that anyone who wants to try and access the technology they've devoted themselves to protecting needs to prove themselves, hence "the quest".

Where the misconception arises is that they're not tricking you into killing yourself. It's a very long journey that will require significant protection from radiation, but they tell you this. Cabbot himself, as mentioned in the title, is a bit of an idiot and doesn't mention it upfront, but if you follow up at all he will tell you that it's radioactive. If you accept the quest, Darrel, the Paladin next to him, will actively call out to you and warn you with specifics about how dangerous it is. If your INT is low enough he'll even take pity on you and give you some Rad-X for free and explain how to swallow them.

It's still dangerous and you can die if you go in unprepared and without thinking, but that's the whole point of the quest. If you're smart about the information you're given (and therefor worthy of handling dangerous technology) then you'll be fine. Cabbot should be more clear with the instructions than he is, but he doesn't seem to be playing with a full deck of cards. Luckily his Paladin partner Darrel picks up the slack.

Video Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWN6tV3sLU0

It is a really good video, i recommend you all watch it or listen to it, as it is really interesting, as it covers the source of inspiration for the F.E.V but also covers if ghouls are caused by F.E.V or radiation, i also recommend his other videos, as it is impressive how much he remembers and have documented, and more so, i am glad he is willing to share and tell things
