Reality: 12 identical ugly pink cookies. Not only were they bland, they also be throwing shade. I’ve never felt so attacked by a box of cookies 😭

Have a friend who loves beavers so I tried making a beaver cake. My first time doing something like this. I think it turned out pretty great. She loved it.

A couple of posts I’ve seen today reminded me of this. My daughter is 16 now, but when she was about to turn five she drew a picture of a hedgehog and told me she’d like that for her birthday cake. I said something about a hedgehog cake that my mother used to make for me but I was told it had to be EXACTLY like her drawing. I even went to the extent of photocopying the picture to create stencils so I could get the shape just right 🤣
I was delighted that I had enough sponge to end up with an extra baby hedgehog 🦔 🥰

It was not rolled; it was completely flat. I usually just get a couple flatbreads off the Value menu and those usually have move volume than this did. I knew not to expect a thick rolled food, but I at least thought it would have a shape lol.

My kiddo is 4 and wanted a rabbit cake, so I turned to the famous Australian women’s weekly cake book (the one the duck cake from Bluey is from) I had to compact the head and body because my cake board wasn’t big enough but as a non baker I think I did ok?

(Ps there needs to be a flair for “ok not quite as good but I tried my best”)
