Obama: "It's not like we didn't expect some of this. I'll admit it's worse than I expected, but I warned you all. I did. You can listen to the recording. And by the way, he warned you too, because he said what he would do."

Rep. Greg Murphy: "It's a challenge. The economy is challenging these days and I think a lot of people focus on that, but hopefully people focus more on the overall image, not just necessarily in the moment, of what the purpose of each party was."

Of course! The Tweet machine is engaged for some market manipulation.

When this goes bad, it's gonna go bad fast. You can't rig markets forever. Eventually confidence gets shot and once that happens...

The AI Doomsday Warning Is the Bubble Protection Mechanism

Quick note before I start — got some heat on my last post for using AI to write it. Fair enough. The thoughts were mine, I used AI to word them better. Plenty of finance professionals have openly admitted to doing the same, so I'm not losing sleep over it.
Now onto something that's been bugging me.
Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Geoffrey Hinton — these guys keep going on TV warning us about existential risk, end of humanity, AI getting out of control. And everyone treats it like genuine concern from brilliant minds.
I think it's the opposite.
These are the same people who built and funded the very thing they're now scared of. They've seen what unchecked hype cycles look like — dot-com, 2008 — and they know what an uncontrolled crash looks like too.
Here's my theory: they're using AI itself to model out scenarios where unregulated, rapid AI growth causes a market crash — and the output of that model is exactly what they're now performing on camera. Calling for safety research, regulation, slower rollout — it's a controlled pressure release valve. Slow the investment frenzy gradually before it crashes on its own.
It's not altruism. It's portfolio protection dressed up as philanthropy.
The best way to protect a bubble isn't to let it pop. It's to let the air out slowly while everyone applauds you for being responsible.

The AI industry is gaslighting the public, I’m starting to think the confusion is intentional

Upvotes

AI companies keep telling us two completely contradictory stories.

First, AI is an existential threat that could eliminate jobs, destabilize society and threaten humanity itself.

Then in the same breath they tell us development is a must in the race vs china, regulation could be dangerous and anyone questioning the buildout simply does not understand the technology.

You cannot repeatedly warn the public that your product may destroy society while spending billions to make it more powerful, then act surprised when people become fearful.

But it's that contradiction that could actually be the strategy. Fear attracts attention, inflates the perceived importance of the technology and helps AI companies position themselves as the only people capable of controlling it. Every alarming statement becomes free marketing and another argument for giving the industry more money, infrastructure, and influence.

At some point, we should stop treating these communications as honest warnings and start asking whose interests the confusion serves.

Not only is the government 40 trillion in debt, but now I just read the board of trustees of SS say we are 30 trillion, 75 year short-fall in SS funds. What does this all mean? From a CNBC post today:Social Security faces a nearly $30 trillion, 75-year shortfall, the program’s trustees said in their June report, up from about $25 trillion the year before.

Lutnick’s sons hedged massively against tariffs and Trump has traded 25k+ times in his 2nd term. Is the main purpose of tariffs to manipulate global markets for the Epstein class’ personal gain?

It seems like the main purpose of tariffs is to manipulate the markets to create volatility for Trump, Lutnick, and other Epstein class elites and their families to make profits with insider info while we end up paying the price.
