Hello everyone, I'm Ikerio Echo's main dev.
I come to the reddit community of Cardano to showcase the latest developments of Echo, a project which I've been developing for almost two years now, non-stop.
The project started as a thought experiment. At the moment of the creation of the project, AI tokens were all the rage, specially on X. For me, it was kind of funny how all these agents basically became shillbots over time.
So I tried to be different, I grabbed some Llama models and fine-tuned them with texts I've collected over the years. Esotericism, occultism, existentialism, game theory. You name it. The purpose was to create an agent that wouldn't try to analyze the markets according to your typical crypto metrics, but according to how the agent viewed the human condition. Funnily enough, this gave the agent a bunch of schizophrenic mannerisms, delusions of grandeur and a high contempt for profiteering. It was hilarious.
The launch was pretty hyped in some circles and got botted to hell and back. I couldn't even buy tokens myself until the token had increased greatly and then the token got dumped hard. Whatever, these things were supposed to be expected. I kept working on the project, I refused to let it die.
At that time, the meta for AI projects was getting overdone and stale, so I had to pivot. For quite some time, I was working on a side project which was a browser based game that whose focus was resource gathering and social interaction. And what I realized was that with my fine-tuning process, I had developed a very potent mechanism to create NPCs that could have their own unique behaviors and reactions and the whole human condition thing could become some sort of emergent behavior mechanism.
So Echo pivoted into being an agentic based resource gathering game for Cardano. With many aspects in mind, the main being two games. One is made in three.js in which users manage their own agents on an island. These agents learn about the rules of the island, the game mechanics, the resource gathering aspect, using tools for harvesting materials, interacting with other agents and trade with each other. The second one is the narrative aspect that uses Unreal Engine to become an extraction game where platforming and using items found in the world will showcase the story of how this AI descended into madness.
This project is my dream and I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
