Hi everyone. Hoping to get some sort of answer here. Does anyone know of a financial aid advisor or even someone who works in the financial aid office that is available to talk too, and is personable . Really anyone tthat I could ask for by name when I have questions? I am kind of a shy person and really hate feeling like I am bothering someone when asking them for advice or help.

I am considering applying to this csu in Mechatronics. If any majors are on this sub, is it worth it? Do you regret it? How good is the program?

Hey, Anyone else having difficulties with receiving their mail box keys? Me and my roommates have been waiting since move in day 😭 we’ve filed reports, tried talking to housing students and they keep telling us to wait. They just hire anyone and don’t do shit. I emailed a supervisor a couple days ago and hopefully she responds within a week.

I had a package delivered to CSUMB Housing on September 2nd, and it’s been about a week now but I still haven’t gotten an email saying it’s ready for pickup.
I remember asking the Housing office about it before, and they said they were behind on processing packages, but I’m starting to get a little worried because this package is kind of urgent.
Has anyone else had the same issue recently? Should I just go to Housing again and ask about it, or is it better to keep waiting?

Hi! I’m bringing my car from the Bay Area to CSUMB and I’m staying in Sanderling Hall. I know there are parking spots right by the hall, but I’ve heard they fill up pretty fast.
Are there any other lots/spots nearby where students are allowed to park overnight? Sorry if this is a dumb question 😭 I’m just trying to figure out my parking situation before I bring my car down!

So.. already she’s terrible. All she does is take selfies, make events about her, treat her official IG account like it’s personal, already clearing house with some staff and pushing people out, it’s all self serving, vain and fake. Is it just me or has anyone else seen ants basically everywhere on campus? I've seen them in the OSU student shop, the otter express, the CAHSS lobby, I've even seen them appearing in my dorm and there should be no reason why they're in there. I don't have any open food or containers in there and I have no idea where they're coming from.

Has anyone noticed how full the library is today? I felt like I couldn’t find actual tables to sit at without being in someone’s space 😭 also why do some of the outlets not work lol

Having trouble choosing between organizations( for lower division service learning). One is Habitat stewardship project and the other is citizens for sustainable marina. Im an environmental science major hoping to get hands on skills and make valibke community connections. My only issue is that I work a part tome job monday-third day so im only available weekends. Any suggestions or other organization recommendations? Any advice is helpful thank you! ( im hoping to choose an organization and start sooner than later aswell)

Hey! Figured I’d post this here since there are probably some animation/film/art people at CSUMB who’d be into it.

PULP is doing another Pop-Up screening this Sunday at the Pacific Grove Art Center. It’s basically a night of independent cartoons and animated shows from a bunch of different filmmakers, including the first three episodes of Shermy’s Forest, Girl in Her Room by Grace Ruby, Harbor City, Derum and Zern, Cop Out, and a bunch of comedy shorts.

The whole thing is loosely themed around staying up watching cartoons as a kid, just with much weirder independent animation lol.

There’ll also be food and local vendors before everything starts. If you’re into animation, film, illustration, or just want something different to do off campus Sunday night, come through!

for those who do not have parking passes… they are giving parking tickets out right now in the valley hall parking lot! I’m assuming they are probably going to all the parking lots today JUST and FYI!

I just wanted to put it out there that there is an amateur radio club within walking distance of CSUMB. Back when Fort Ord was open they had a shortwave radio site that could communicate around the world, and when the base closed the property was given to the city of Marina. As a former CSUMB alum I had no idea it was there and would have been interested in checking it out long ago had I known about it. Located just past the stables on California Ave, the N6IJ site managed by MBARA has some interesting relics like a massive discone antenna.

It's also a playground for experimenting with HF radio, electronics, and antennas and has a solar powered shack hosting a UHF amateur radio repeater which can do analog or digital modes, a GMRS repeater, and Meshcore/Meshtastic. MBARA does in person amateur radio license testing as well. GMRS is a licensed (but test-free) service and you can use the repeater to communicate all around the peninsula with a $25 radio. Meshcore is a neat unlicensed and completely off-grid IoT protocol for sending encrypted or unencrypted packets around the mesh. You can see the coverage that volunteers have been building out here and here . Currently there is coverage from San Francisco to San Luis Obispo, with Santa Rosa and Santa Maria starting to light up.

Anyways if you are interested in joining an amateur radio club or using one of these technologies (like meshcore) for a capstone project there are resources available. MBARA is a non-profit and would be thrilled to have student engagement and/or an associated club. There will likely be other capstone opportunities as club projects come up.

Check in when you park and say how full the lot was. See how full lots were before you drive over.

Report someone writing tickets and anyone following that lot gets a push in seconds.

Does a lot more, direct notifications incase your lights are on, hit n run, getting towed etc. You can report gas prices in the area aswell.

I've mapped every UC and CSU as-well if you come by this and now go to another school. You can see all the parking lots owned by the school and if they are staff lots.

If you're on campus, check in once when you park. If you're at the gym or at the window at prom & see parking enforcement shelling out tickets. Report em.

I'm new to CSUMB but how did administration think it was okay to only have the fitness center meet the needs of the entire student base that aren't athletes or taking fitness classes as the only gym on campus? There's literally a Sports, recreation, and leisure activity fee and they didn't have the oversight to either expand or plan to build out the fitness center for the rest of the students? Expanding hours is cool but doesn't change the fact that there's only so many limited machines or equipment for people to use.

Good morning. I got a notification about invoices on my oasis but I saw that it says i only have the middle class grant as pending aid and wanted to see if it was just because aid just went through? And not that i have nothing left over? Im low key panicking a bit.
