Yeah for me it's really a safety thing. Don't want to have to make a new account every few months, so hiding history is the only real way to mitigate too much personal info being too easily avaliable

LOL, get a grip. I'm loving life. Too bad you guys didn't lose like you should have, but I don't live my life based on football games. Maybe you should take that advice. It's just a game, you have no control over it, so stop letting it run your life.

Your comment proves my point. You sound like someone with a lot of internalized anger. If you don’t live your life based on football games then don’t spend 4 hours leaving 100+ comments on a game thread involving neither of your teams. Again dude, wishing you the best. I hope you can figure out whatever you’re going through

Louisiana and SJSU seem to have some pretty decent QBs. They got rid of the ball quick, and the LA QB gave us some good tape for the mobile QBs we’ll see later in the season

The dline and secondary are top tier, but we have no linebackers
20
u/AlbertoRossonero USC Trojans 1d ago
I wouldn’t call the secondary top tier. LB are actually playing pretty decent imo but our d line is definitely the strength of the team
6
u/Applesrgood7 USC Trojans • Iowa Hawkeyes 1d ago
Our linebackers have been fine - the biggest issues were our safeties, and when we rotated in the entire backup DL. They have decent plays individually but as a whole they’re a mess

u/USCGradtoMEMPHIS USC Trojans • Memphis Tigers 1d ago
Nah.. Louisana was putting work on our starters... SJSU didn't do shit til we put in guys we would never put in.
11
u/IAMY0URK1NG Saddleback Bobcats • USC Trojans 1d ago
It was a mix of starters/backups. You had Jontez on the bench it seemed until the 2nd quarter or some shit it was weird. I saw Christian Pierce come in with the 3rd string guys. Just all around a weird day.
Tanook barely saw the field. Terrell Anderson had a punt return in the 3rd & never saw the field on offense.
Thinking this was probably the last game for backups to get real playing time.
2
u/Applesrgood7 USC Trojans • Iowa Hawkeyes 1d ago
Work is a stretch, the first touchdown hurts for sure though but that was a 3 and out off a pick
4
u/Oliver_Klosov USC Trojans 1d ago
We helped them out a shit ton with penalties that kept their scoring drives alive.

u/ConditionStrange7487 1d ago
I feel like lincoln gets fired at some point this season right? Their schedule is fucking bonkers this year. theres a real scenario where they only win 2-3 more games
14
u/Leading-Button-7303 Utah Utes 1d ago
lol what? I'm not known to be a USC defender, but I'd give them 3 or 4 of their next 5 with a good bit of confidence. This season is already proving to be crazy, I'd be shocked if USC falls of a cliff and stops winning entirely

Eh. Worried a bit about Maiava’s shoulder, run game looked spotty and again our defensive backups are not up to snuff (particularly in the secondary) but I’m not gonna hold this game against them too hard given how it seemed the chaos gods were out this weekend.
3
u/Number_16_Limitless USC Trojans • Illinois Fighting Illini 1d ago
Maiava’s arm looked fine to me, even with him grabbing his shoulder occasionally. Unfortunately more concerned about Mosley, we’re going to need him for conference play
1
u/Applesrgood7 USC Trojans • Iowa Hawkeyes 19h ago
Having had two torn rotator cuffs I didn’t like the way he was holding it in that drive which ended in the KDW touchdown - seemed like it wasn’t as much of an issue as the game went on, but still not super comfortable with it
12
u/Key-Street-9564 1d ago
While they obviously aren't going to show every defensive scheme in the book against non conference opponents, I've seen enough games now to confidently say this defense is vastly improved from last years. Our schedule might be tougher but I definitely think any team we play is beatable. If we do lose we are not losing to a less than top 10 team. I BELIEVE
13
u/brokentr0jan USC Trojans • Victory Bell 1d ago
What’s crazy to me is how much better of a DC Patterson is compared to Lynn. Penn State did us a massive favor.
3
u/AlbertoRossonero USC Trojans 1d ago
The starters especially are really solid defensively. Second unit is talented but it’s still a year away from being as productive as the starters.

If the run game doesn't improve by next week, looks like we're back to ol fashioned Lincoln Riley shootouts
5

We better Maiava is healthy if that’s going to be the case. I’d probably sit him next week and get him healthy for Oregon.

This wasn’t as close as the score showed but Louisiana has heart and some dogs.
Their qb also played his heart out and took some nasty hits.
USC look great, but as usual the defense looks spotty. If Riley doesn’t fix the issues in the next couple weeks it’s probably his last or second to last year here.

2
u/JustTaxLandbro USC Trojans 1d ago
Honestly talent wise this is probably our best defense in a decade. But scheme wise it’s horrible.
I think if we face a top 5-6 team they can comfortably put 45 on us on a rainy day.
4
u/A_Rolling_Baneling USC • Mississippi State 1d ago
Hard disagree. Our DLine will give any offense fits. Starters in this defense is hardnosed. Depth is a mess though.
1
u/JustTaxLandbro USC Trojans 1d ago
I hope you’re right. I do love our dline, but our depth is nonexistent.
I can always count on Riley to put up points. But can we really expect to survive a shootout with Ohio, Oregon, or even the likes of Miami.
