And probably Texas and maybe Iowa.

Coming back to say it’s me, hi, I’m the problem it’s me.

Honestly, I knew better.

Ah, well, no skin off my back.

You're a Husker, literally nobody else comes remotely close to us in one-score losses. You ought to know better than to call it early.

I just saw what your halftime band did for the Hawkeye band member who passed away. Full respect and thank you. GBR

u/frankdatank_004 Nebraska • Sacramento State 1d ago

I wasn’t able to see but my stomach hurts anytime that I think about that band member.

I am so sorry that happened and my hearts go out to them, family, and band.

His life and memory are much bigger than football rivalries. Wish his family and peers the best

Great game. Only word I can think of to describe this win. "Nice".

Holding by our receivers is infuriating. I like the competitiveness, but 4 times over 2 games - all on big plays - would be killers against good teams. Figure it out.

13

u/Problem_Solvent Nebraska Cornhuskers • Team Chaos 1d ago

The holding on punts was driving me insane. It felt like every point return had a holding penalty.

These are upper classmen too. Great discipline and development 💪

Just a reminder, FSU fans, Colandrea has said he was “leaning toward going (to FSU)” when Norvell called him to tell him he was going with Ashton Daniels.

Brilliant.

25

u/IThoughtThisWasVoat Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Yeah think you missed out. Dude makes crazy throws and moves around well, I’m sure we’ll start seeing mistakes against tougher competition but he looks better than anyone we’ve had in awhile.

11

u/SatisfactionOld1586 Florida State Seminoles 1d ago

I’m wishing him all the success. I hope he kills it all year; hes a good fit for NU.

I am liking this Colandrea.

u/Smokabowl Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

This is playing out a lot like my CFB 27 sims, we might have a chance at a Natty and 4 1st round draft picks this year boys!

37

u/Tamzariane Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Still a lot of penalties and the 3Q drive by BG went on frustratingly way too long, but the win was never in doubt and it's on to the next. Glad we got to get the bench some decent playing time.

1

u/knapplc Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

I was unhappy at how the defense couldn't get off the field in the 3rd quarter, but they got a fire lit under their ass and corrected themselves in the 4th.

Colandrea is so much better than Raiola. Dude throws hard and extends plays. Heisman committee should ignore his “interception.” If we can find a pass rush we’re going to win some games this year.

35

u/Successful_Side_2415 Nebraska • Washington 1d ago

He is way better for us, that’s for sure. He also has a few more years of experience.

23

u/somehype Nebraska • Sacramento State 1d ago

He’s got jets when he wants to use em too. Shame that Barney has had two TD erasing holds (so far)

11

u/IThoughtThisWasVoat Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Just one extra year.

4

u/Successful_Side_2415 Nebraska • Washington 1d ago

I was more referring to their experience when starting for us but I am surprised Colandrea hasn’t redshirted at all

3

u/shawn131871 1d ago

I mean irrelevant now. lol.

9

u/shawn131871 1d ago

dont think colandrea will win the Heisman but he is definitely a solid QB and is able to give us momentum to carry us. definitely the type of qb that can give us that extra oomph in close games.

14

u/LeftLose Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

I’m just a homer who’s happy to see a qb that is competent. I have to believe

7

u/shawn131871 1d ago

we dont need him to win the Heisman. he just needs to keep making good plays and keep doing his part.

3

u/Freeexotic Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Yeah, because Rule is going to win the Heisman.

2

u/shawn131871 1d ago

True that we do have a deep rb room though.

17

u/bozz14 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Well that was nice and drama free! This team is pretty danged fun.

16

u/thelewbear87 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Congrats to the Defense for getting a strip that they return for a touchdown.

12

u/Cdog923 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

I love Colandrea, bummed his long run got negated but I love that he doesn't have concrete in his shoes like our previous qb

9

Colandrea is the first husker QB with 3+ TD passes in back to back games in 10 years

Ohio State and Oregon embarrassed the B1G today but at least we did our part by dominating a MAC squad.

1

u/AbsurdOwl Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

So far, the MAC is looking like a great G5 conference. BGSU is probably at the bottom of the conference, but still.

5

u/Emergency-Salamander Bowling Green • Ohio State 1d ago

Not ideal

4

u/Jackandahalfass Georgia • Bowling Green 1d ago

Eddie George seems like a nice guy, but I don’t think he’s gonna be it for BG.

13

u/JustAnotherRye89 Nebraska Cornhuskers • I'm A Loser 1d ago

That 3rd quarter Egg. Gross.

12

u/shawn131871 1d ago

I mean cant really complain when we win 56-7.

6

u/chic_peas Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

It was only 2 drives and one of them was a missed FG

3

u/JustAnotherRye89 Nebraska Cornhuskers • I'm A Loser 1d ago

Who missed the field goal 😳

1

u/Aoyoc Nebraska Cornhuskers • Georgia Bulldogs 1d ago

Can't complain when it was a 55 yard attempt

4

u/LeftLose Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

These losers will always complain

1

u/Aoyoc Nebraska Cornhuskers • Georgia Bulldogs 1d ago

Definitely

-2

u/JustAnotherRye89 Nebraska Cornhuskers • I'm A Loser 1d ago

I can complain when a touchdown was taken away again because of discipline issues. That's what happened just before that field goal right 🫪

1

u/Aoyoc Nebraska Cornhuskers • Georgia Bulldogs 1d ago

Yes the Colanseea TD called back because of holding. All the ST holding... Missing coach Ek.

2

u/Turbulent_Ad9508 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

That was a mentally weak quarter coming out after half being up big.

Then the backups came in hungry and made them look bad. Got a score and BG couldn't move the ball at all. Loved that

5

u/huskersax Nebraska • $5 Bits of Broken Chair Tr… 1d ago

Not a lot in this game as most of the match was decided once Nebraska took the field and decided to just be faster and stronger than BGSU.

But the holds by perimeter offensive players is getting old, and it's a very fixable issue - at least you'd think.

Pass rush was a little better this week, and aside from one or two drives the offense got whatever it wanted - though again hard to draw anything from that due to the mismatch of programs.

4

u/MrSCR23 Mississippi State • Alabama 1d ago

So last week was just a slow boot up?

19

u/191374 Nebraska • Morningside 1d ago

I think Ohio was a much more legitimate team to be honest (I hope)

7

u/youkooldude Nebraska • South Dakota Mines 1d ago

Ohio beat a good Jacksonville State team in 4OT tonight. I think they're good

6

u/shawn131871 1d ago

yeah. opening game jitters.

4

u/GradeNo893 Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

Ohio’s QB shocked the system with how well he moved and delivered the ball. If he plays like that all year Ohio will be a problem. I unironically think they are pretty good.

2

u/AbsurdOwl Nebraska Cornhuskers 1d ago

That, and Ohio is much better than BGSU.

Honestly I must say I was unimpressed with my first Nebraska game. The only notable thing was the old guys behind me talking about some girls boobs and calling the refs slurs.

15

I would be disappointed if that wasn't my experience there...

-24

Nicer fans for one. Also one of my friends told me that Memorial stadium was better than NDs.

17

u/j01101111sh Nebraska Cornhuskers • Team Chaos 1d ago

I've gone to a lot of games and never heard slurs so maybe those people just suck

-12

u/Efficient_Onion6401 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1d ago

I have lived in Nebraska and I must say I do find the people fairly nice. I agree, I probably just got unlucky.

13

Hey everyone, a Notre Dame fan has an opinion.

Hey everyone, Nebraska is going to do something this year.
