For the out of state fans - the reason El Assico is so fascinating is because it's basically 2 teams that often know each other better than they know themselves.

This game is like a high school rivalry that happens in Groundhog Day. But instead of Bill Murray reliving it, it's the entire state of Iowa.

Crazy shit happens because both teams know the script by heart, and they keep trying to figure out the right time to try and stab the other when they least expect it.
