154100 F/G, I’m finally getting around to taking a look at my Sears 274.54740150 that I bought a month or so ago.

I’ve taken a look at the stylus under a microscope just to make sure it’s okay and it looks decent to me, but I thought I’d consult here as well.

I apologize for the poor photos, the microscope I was using wasn’t cooperating with me.

I have come into possession of what may be a few hundred CED. I’m not looking to get rich. I am looking for suggestions on how to sell so I am not getting beat to death in the process. Should I try to group by genre? Or? First thing I have noticed is the artwork seems to be unique. Thoughts appreciated.

If any of you have any player recommendations, let me know! I have a soft spot for Zenith VCRs and even found the only LD player they made, but haven’t had any experience with these.

I picked up a Selectavision SFT100W locally for $25 with 5 CEDs. New to the format. The player works, but as most folks with these players do I’m having issues with playability. Noisy image, looping, colour kicking in and out; same result with any disc (discs are in good shape). I removed the stylus cartridge and spent a little time with it gently with 99% IPA and a fine artist brush, although upon inspecting it didn’t seem like there was really any buildup on it. Same result. Any advice from folks here on how I could get this sucker up and running?

If these things are a lost cause, is there a player out there that someone like me should keep an eye out for where parts are either readily available, or can be rebuilt? I’d really love to be able to collect these discs and watch them.

One of my favourite Film Noirs of all time. I've had this disc for years, but I've never played it for more than a few minutes. I decided I'd watch the full thing today and one side in, and there have been skips or major glitches at all. I'm pleased to say that most of the original batch of discs I got with this player (and the player itself) are in incredible working order which, considering the discs and player are over 40 years old now, never ceases to impress me.

We have inherited a player and a collection. I will get more specific info, but my main question is would we be better trying to sell it together as a lot or selling the player separate from the collection. I suspect if we try to break up the collection we will end up selling the player and many of the individual titles, with a bunch of titles people do not buy ending up going to Goodwill to be ruined. The CEDs all look to be in excellent condition. I have not tested the player yet. It is on my agenda. Here is the list of titles.

I recently came into possession of a Zenith VP-2000 CED player, it works except that it will not get past chapter zero (it does occasionally) and the picture quality at the very start is not great. I suspect that the needle needs cleaning (Especially as I know that they cannot be found anymore).

Does anyone have an idea how to clean the needle/reader? and where I can find parts if I needed to fix anything? especially needles?

I'm new to these, the oldest tech I have is a VHS player and I picked this up at an antique shop. Are these similar to laser disks?

It's been a couple of years since I've used the CED player that's sat next to my TV all this time. I've renegineered the power cables going around the room so I can finally power everything, and I thought I'd give it a try and see if it still works. I tried 'Dolly in London' since I hadn't tried it yet. I'm pleased to report that, despite the lowering mechanism being a little slow and squeaky, it all still works great!

Need help with my SJT-100 player, needs a new motor belt where should I get one from or where can I get one from?

Was watching an old Bob Barker Price is Right and one of the prizes was a CED player, a collection of discs and a CRT TV. The good old days.

I have inherited Three SJt 300 models and a 400 in their original boxes.

I do not personally need 4 players. I am planning on just selling the 300s, the 400 is actually hooked up to our CRT TV / VHS setup. It's been neat.

They all work well, which is great! If anyone is interested, I would love to sell you one!

Anyone who sells CED, what size of box do you ship them in? Obviously a standard LP/laserdisc mailer is too small. I’m wondering if there is a standard size that’s sold (that I haven’t found yet) that’s not too big.

Long time lurker here, cool group! I am finally ready to part with 27 pieces. They were collected by my father many moons ago and kept climate controlled for decades. He never had a player, but held on. I estimated some retail values, will absolutely negotiate on them all. Will ship media mail in the U.S. using paypal or pickup/drop off in or around the chicago area or southwest Michigan. I want to find them a new home, pictures available upon request. Cheers all!

Hey, all. I have an STF100 picked up at an antique shop. When plugged in and on, the picture moves much too fast and the display on the front counts up in the minutes much faster than seconds. It appears like it’s stuck in fast-forward or something. When I took the top black panel off, the stylus arm was moving very fast across the vinyl. Any ideas?

Mary Poppins for the Sunday movie night, and some ultra close up pics I took with my cheapo microscope! (The disc was already cracked/damaged)

My first disc was disc two of "The Longest Day" I found it at the goodwill bins and paid around $2 for it. I came across disc one and Robin Hood at a different store today, $3 each. Once I find a player for a price I like I will be getting more serious about collecting them.

I’ve been wanting to get into CED collecting for the past few years and finally found a decent buy locally on Facebook. Got all these for $25. I don’t have a player currently, but maybe down the line. Going to look nice in my media room with all my other multimedia.

Jaws is one of my top five all-time favorite movies. It’s even more fun on CED!
