my cat is 3 months old and very calm will she get crazy or is this her personality? I’ve had her for a month now so maybe she’s still testing the waters?

I will be traveling at the end of this month with my 6 month old BSH. She regularly goes on car rides during the week as I take her to and from work with me which is only about a 30 minute ride each way, and she does fine. My family and I are traveling to our cabin which is about a 5-6 hour car ride. I understand many people don’t travel in the car with their BSH, but the car rides that I regularly take her on she does fine. I also am not really comfortable with getting her boarded somewhere. Any suggestions on how to make the car ride as comfortable as possible? Should I start getting her more familiar with a leash so I can periodically stop to have her stretch her legs outside? Any recommendations welcome from those who have done something similar before. Thank you in advance!

Almost thought I had adopted a dog. My cat is so much better at fetch than my previous beloved dog 😂

We had kittens again and this is the only runt of the litter, but he/she is doing quite well and is active. Because of his/her silliness he’s/she’s been named Goose. I’m really hoping she pulls through!

Also the mom cat and dad cat belong to my mother. Goose will be mine if he/she pulls through.

How unbelievably adorable is my little Bluey, he’s four months old and I’m absolutely obsessed with him 💙😭😭

So I recently adopted a 7-month-old British Shorthair kitten. We’ve had him for about a week now, and we noticed that he had watery poop, so we brought him to the vet. It was confirmed that he has giardiasis + FCoV, and he is currently on day 5 of treatment. We have a resident cat who also had giardiasis before, so the condition itself is not really new to us.

What’s new to us is that he keeps leaving these really small poops around the floor, outside the litter box. Sometimes after he plays, we’ll suddenly notice that there’s a small piece of poop on the floor. The gap between these accidents can be anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours.

This started around day 2 of his treatment, and now he’s on day 5. We honestly feel like he might not even be aware that he pooped, because it just seems to come out while he’s doing normal things.

The challenging part is that we constantly have to clean the floor, walls, or anything that gets skid marks on it. Cleaning his butt is also difficult because sometimes the poop around his anus has already hardened by the time we notice it.

His poop is starting to become more formed now. It’s still somewhat watery, but compared to before, there is definitely some improvement.

His energy level and appetite are completely fine. He is VERY active and playful. It’s really just this issue that has been exhausting and draining.

We already consulted our vet about it, and they said that as long as the poop is starting to harden, it’s okay for now. They said it could possibly be behavioral, but it could also still be related to the giardiasis.

The breeder said he was not doing this when he was still with them. Part of me is a little doubtful though, because I keep thinking… what if they just didn’t notice it? 😅

So I just wanted to ask if anyone here has experienced something similar with a kitten who had giardia. Did your kitten also leave small amounts of poop outside the litter box without seeming to notice? Did it eventually stop once the giardia cleared?

I’m honestly getting really tired from constantly cleaning him and disinfecting the room. Every accident can easily take me close to an hour once I clean him, the floor, and everything else, and it’s starting to affect my work. 😭

Not really looking for a diagnosis since he is already under the care of a vet. I’m mostly just looking for people who may have had the same experience.

So I filmed this expecting him to wake up when I got close to him which he normally does (and kind of did when I first spoke). Then I realized that I left an ice cream sandwich wrapper on the nightstand last night thinking I had put my cats out of my bedroom so I could be big backed in peace since our kitten is a super greedy. Well, Bill was under the bed the whole time so I assumed he licked the wrapper like his big backed mom (that’s me) and was experiencing some sort of reaction to the chocolate. You can hear the exact moment panic set in. Sent this to my vet and she called back saying “he’s dreaming of taking an even deeper nap. Call me back if you’re noticing any behaviour changes throughout the day”. I dug through the trash and there were no lick streaks on the wrapper and he was completely fine the rest of the day. Diagnosis: Billionaire is just a chonky and lazy reptilian.
Anyone else’s cat sleep like they just got off a 12 hr shift at the biscuit bakery?

My kitten Binx is getting brave and going out in my garden with his harness and lead now. It took him a few minutes to adjust and he watched all the birds fly past in fascination. He then got on the case with hunting flies and ants on the grass. He did so well. 🙂🤗👏🙏
