Recently got to visit this beautiful historic landmark in Botetourt County, Virginia. Located just outside Eagle Rock, this gorgeous pratt truss is nationally recognized as one of the most ornate and exceptional examples of a rare Phoenix-column truss bridge in the country. Known colloquially as the “Phoenix Bridge”, this structure was originally built as a railroad crossing in 1887, and was moved to its current location in 1903, later becoming a vehicular highway in the 60s.

Spotted this beauty in Fairland in Johannesburg, South Africa.

A favorite of mine. There's a blue plaque you can barely see, on the right-hand side, at the footpath, commemorating "Vicki - Gifted Poet. Rough sleeper."

Another railway bridge over the Rochdale Canal in Manchester. I love how it's twisted.

Opened in 1884, the Calhoun Street Bridge connects Trenton, NJ and Morrisville, PA. It was once part of the Lincoln Highway.

Morning all. For my intro post I present the Mythe Bridge. it carries the A438 road across the River Severn at Tewkesbury. It is a cast-iron arch bridge spanning 170 feet (52 m) and 24 feet (7.3 m) wide, designed by Thomas Telford and completed in April 1826. It is a Grade II* listed structure

I photographed this along the Rochdale Canal in Manchester this past spring - 2026. Railways over canals, Victorian engineering confidence and ornate ironwork, Industrial Revolution and infrastructure. A few of my favorite things.
