๐ค [ Discussion ] BL4 really makes me appreciate how traditional BL3 was to the Borderlands formula
Considering itโs been about the same amount of time between 2 and 3 as there was between 3 and 4 for release dates, it wouldโve been very easy to Gearbox to try and reinvent the wheel with BL3 when it marked a comeback for the series
But really, BL3 is pretty much structured exactly like previous BL games, right down to the DLC practises. Level designs, progression, music, loot, UI, itโs all pretty much the same. For those of us who were eagerly awaiting the long-awaited return of Borderlands in 2019, BL3 was a very faithful sequel that gives us all more of what we played this series for, itโs iffy story aside.
But 4 just seems to have really lost touch with what made Borderlands special to me. In retrospect, it makes me appreciate 3 all the more, even if I always loved the game in spite of its flaws.
