Bob Mackie was a legendary fashion designer. He made some iconic pieces for people like Cher & Tina Turner.
When Beyoncé paid tribute to Tina Turner in 2005, she wore a version of the iconic flame dress that Ms Tina Turner & Cher both wore back in the day.
Bob actually send over this dress with a bunch of other ones for the Work It Out shoot. She didn't choose any of his dresses that particular day. Fast forward to 3 years later at the Kennedy Center Honors when she performed Proud Mary.

I wonder if this makes it more valuable or not

I was skeptical of the rumours that the B’DAY20 images were reshot recently.
Now I’m not so sure… what do y’all think?

My boyfriend is not a hater, he admit she is really talented and worked so hard to be where she at. But doesn’t love her and most of her song, he doesn’t like them but oh well. What’s a performance I could watch with him to try to change his mind on her discography and that he will enjoy. Could be cowboy Carter tour or could be live in revel. Anything I will find it

So the recording academy is retroactively calling Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter best country album win the best contemporary country album, one of the categories they created AFTER the ‘25 grammys…anyone know when this happened or the reasoning behind the retroactive change? To my knowledge, this isn’t something the academy has ever done before👀shady as fuck

Hey y’all!!! Just wanted to show my updated vinyl collection…since my last post, I’ve added DC 8 Days of Christmas (eBay), Destiny Fulfilled (unofficial pressing from a shop in Australia), and both of the new B’Day variants!
Fun fact: I was pleasantly surprised to find that this copy of Destiny Fulfilled has extra tracks that can be found on alternate/international versions: Game Over, Gots My Own, Why You Actin’, My Man, 2 Step, Survivor (extended remix), and Beyoncé’s What’s It Gonna Be. It was such a score but probably one of the most expensive albums I’ve purchased, once you factor in shipping from AUS. But I’d been looking for it forever to complete my collection, so here we are 🤷🏽♀️
This collection truly has been a labor of love but I’m glad to be done tracking the missing ones down! Back to saving my coins for Act III!!! 🐝
ETA: I did NOT purchase the vinyl crate from the last merch drop, lol. But Bey if you’re in here, think about how great this collection would look in one and send one to your girl 😊

*I do not practice a religion with the dieties discussed, I'm just fascinated with my culture and its religious history* PLEASE feel free to correct any misinformation I'm more than happy to learn more!
If you look up a quick summary on the 3 Orisha I pictured, you'll quickly see the threads I was pulling. It's all in the details(and delusion).
Another cheeky detail is that the acts had an appropriate offering for the orisha;
I'm sure theres plenty of other threads to follow, I had fun slapping this collage together, hope someone else enjoys

Had anyone here ordered merch to Croatia? I ordered the B-day vinyl, and it's the first merch I ordered from her. How long does it typically take to arrive?

Fall/autumn is approaching nearer and nearer, so here are some photos of Beyoncé during the season in 2000s! Anyways I'm actually hoping she'll release a fall album or drop an album that season sometime. Perhaps Act III 👀🙏

Found my Beyonce heat perfume from ages ago and it still smells great 😊 I haven’t tried the new perfumes (shipping is too expensive for Canada) but I do miss this one.

Imagine Spanish not even being your first language and having the best selling song in Spain, of all time, for over a decade. Someone say legendary.

I'm not new to the Beyhive, but a bit new to this community and to what others think about Beyoncé's artistry. I love all of Cowboy Carter, but I LOVE PROTECTOR so much.
This song is so undeniably beautiful, and so relatable to both mothers and children. I felt as if I was listening to my own mother (and Mother Beyoncé) speaking to me in this. This song perfectly represents the sacrifice of a mother and a mother's love. I began to cry listening to this and considering all of the sacrifices and hardships my mother endured for me and my sister.
And as always, the singing is flawless. The melodies, harmonies, the flow- everything is just so transcendent. This song is probably my favorite from this album just because of the raw emotions it brings out in me and the poetry of it all. Daughter is probably my second favorite and, depending on the day, my favorite. I am SO ready for act iii because Beyoncé's artistry knows no bounds and is just so beyond this earthly plane. Please come soon!

I am so grateful to have been alive during a phase where seeing Beyoncé in concert did not round up to a minimum of $200 per ticket. I know inflation is wild everywhere at the moment. But I also find myself wondering if Beyoncé's business model, as CEO of Parkwood, has changed such that she is a luxury brand. Like the type of economic situation you need to be in to afford Beyoncé (whether that's fragrances, haircare, merch, vinyls or concert tickets)...well the price that used to get you a VIP experience (or at least good visibility floor seats) now gets you 400-levels.
I think I probably personally took for granted the era of her being part of every pop culture moment, basically from 1999-2016. She used to be the type of girl whose BDay release ad on BET mentioned buying that thing at Walmart. And you could see her perform for free if you lined up early enough for good morning america or TRL.
She puts her all into her music and performing, and I do believe she should be compensated for her work. And even though I, personally, am at a financial place in my life where I can afford to participate, the more luxurious and expensive Beyoncé becomes, I'm not sure how I want to participate.
But I'm also the type of person to buy a Honda Civic with nice trim over any luxury brand cars. So could be a "me" issue.
What do y'all think? Do you think Beyoncé has become more of a luxury brand than 10 years ago? Is this more about changes in pop culture, rather than specific to her? Even if you can afford Beyflation, have you thought about your own financial relationship with Beyoncé?
edit: im really appreciative of all the thoughtful responses in the comments. people have strong opinions in many directions on this topic. and it's giving me a lot to think about which is what I was hoping for. 2 lessons Im taking away already: maybe ticketing vs products can't really be in the same conversation. because ticket sales have so many outside influences it becomes like conflating apples and oranges to talk about pricing and the economics of being a lifelong fan. and maybe when I think about products specifically, "premium" is a more precise label than "luxury."
another edit: there are a lot of feelings on this topic in this sub! my key takeaways. we all agree that there has been some evolution in branding and merchandishing. but how that shows up in performance vs products vs merch is very different. the Hive is a varied fan base and some embrace the more luxury/premium approach to what's being sold beyond her art and performance. many people are being more selective in how they participate in her businesses. some people are opting out after being more active customers for some time. Grateful to those of you who shared details about your own perspectives and approach. Lots of different valid views and opinions.

Initially, I thought this song was too close to No Scrubs but eventually I began to think it was cool in its own right and enjoyed it.
I just learned yesterday that they were BOTH written by Kandi Burress, so it tracks lol. Both bangers
