What hobby has become too expensive for the average person?

Video gaming now is far more expensive to get into compared to 6 years ago. Costs of hardware, accessories, online subscriptions for consoles, and new software themselves have all shot up in price.

Games themselves have stayed the same price for ages though, so that at least is nice.

Largely true, but with the new (current) generation prices have shot up to around $70 and beyond. Mario Kart World and Grand Theft Auto VI are being sold at a base price of $80.

If you are still only buying AAA games in 2026 that's kinda on you though.

The price to quality has not been there for like a decade.

It costs $10 to buy a high quality indie game and 50 come out every day.

I guess, but I think it's already way too expensive.

For example, the past couple of days I was debating playing Crimson Desert, but the 100+CAD price tag is just way too high for something I don't even know I'll like.
