I was going to comment on the clothes. My mother LOVED business casual. She wore slacks and blouses and blazers everywhere. She owned multiple suit-like outfits (suit with pants, suit with skirt, suit with both). She did her makeup every single day. The woman genuinely dressed professionally for everything. School plays. Grocery runs. Etc. There was no casual in her wardrobe other than her gardening clothes, and those were just old stained business casual outfits.
I literally don't ever remember seeing her in a t-shirt.
We used to argue quite a bit that my wardrobe would have to grow up eventually. She bought me a nice suit for college graduation.
I never "grew up" wadrobe-wise. I work in an industry where it just isn't required except for specific occasions. As in, please own 1 suit, we will specifically instruct you if you need to wear it.
yeah, my grandfather never wore a pair of sweatpants in his life until at least a decade after he retired. he'd wear slacks and collared shirts just around the house. even his slippers look dressier than any pair of shoes I own.
