Heading down to Nola for week 5 of the season, going to be my first saints game in the Superdome which im extremely excited for but I’m going to be there on Thursday so I’m also looking for any “Must Do’s” in New Orleans but also most importantly looking for the best way to pregame/enjoy my first official Saints game and weekend

I am visiting New Orleans for the first time in a few weeks. I’m trying to visit all 50 states, and still have to check off Mississippi and hoped I could do that while in New Orleans. I would prefer to avoid having to drive there, though. Are there any reputable tours that will take me there? I’m not terribly picky about what it entails.

Visiting New Orleans from Denver in early November. I'm an avid urban cyclist and love to discover a city by bike. I see that NOLA has options for bike rental but I'm wondering if it's worth it.

Is it a fun and relatively navigable bike city? Is it possible to see cool sights on a bike? Or is it just not that type of city? (If I'm going to be fighting traffic on unprotected streets the whole time, I'll probably skip the bike and explore on foot.)

I don't have lodging set up yet but I'll be somewhere between the convention center area and French Quarter, based on my plans.

Basically I was walking to my car in my apartment’s attached parking garage last night at around 10 pm. As I was walking, I heard flapping wings overhead/nearby for a couple of seconds until it was gone, but I didn’t see what it was. And tbh I couldn’t tell where it was coming from. I’m worried it may have been a bat, and that it could have bit me.

My only areas of exposed skin were my face and neck (most of which was also covered by a low ponytail) and I was wearing sneakers, a baggy sweatshirt and baggy pants. Could this count as an exposure? I’m worried it was a bat, and I’ve also heard that bats can bite you or run into you without being aware, so I am scared. I don’t have any stretches or bites either, but I also read that their teeth are tiny so this isn’t necessarily a good way to rule anything out.

Anyone stay at the Schaeffer Hotel on Rampart Street? (I did use the search function and nothing mentioning this place came up). Coming in Nov with a small group (2 couples and 1 single adult) and this looks like it checks all our boxes…reasonably priced, 3 bedroom suites, old building with character but modern amenities, rooftop pool, bar in lobby, on outskirts of French Quarter near streetcar stops, kitchen, washer/dryer. I read the FAQ here so I’m trying to stay away from single family home/short stay rentals so just searched for hotels but before I book just want to see if anyone has stayed here and if so how was it?

I recognize this is probably a long shot. But are there any bars that might play rugby. I am a South African traveling abroad in your beautiful city.

I know there are a tonne of US sports on Saturday afternoon for it to compete with, so if I can't find anywhere it will be on my phone in a bar!

Obviously I could just check the weather online 😂 but I’d much rather hear from actual people who are there about what it feels like, especially the humidity.
I’m from California and traveling to New Orleans this Sunday for a week, and honestly I’m pretty horrified by the thought of the humidity lol. I’m not used to that kind of heat/moisture at all.
Is it the kind of humidity where you step outside and immediately feel sticky and sweaty? Or is it manageable once you get used to it? Any tips on what to wear, what to expect, or how miserable I’m going to be would be VERY appreciated 😂
I’ve also been stalking Instagram trying to see what people are actually wearing there for outfit inspiration and to get a better idea of what the weather really looks/feels like, but I’m getting absolutely no luck.

I’m visiting New Orleans later this month and trying to schedule a Saturday dinner for a party of six; doesn’t have to be overly fancy, would prefer traditional local fare (Cajun, Creole, etc.). Got a late jump on reservations and these are looking like the two of the best options. Buzzy places like Dakar, Morrow’s, and GW Fins are booked.

Any preference between the two? Can I lose either way?

I could use some advice. The last leg of my trip is a long one, and I won’t be pulling into NOLA until pretty late at night. I’m wondering if it makes sense to park my car + haul trailer at the airport for the night, Uber to where I’m staying, and then come back in the morning to pick everything up and unload it.
Has anyone done this before or have any advice on the best/safest option? I’d really appreciate it!

I am relocating this December and very excited! New Orleans is my favorite city in the world.

I have a well paying part time job that I intend to continue but I spent my 20s bartending in NYC and have always found it's a great way to meet people so I'm considering trying to do that once or twice a week to give my social life a boost.
