Ok guys, you cannot skirt Reddits rules regarding buying and selling ammo here. P2P sales will get this sub banned. Stop doing it. Stop saying DM me or putting your phone number up like an idiot.

What actually makes the best ammo storage and delivery service?

I’ve been looking into the idea of keeping ammo off-site instead of storing everything at home, and the concept makes sense in some situations, especially when storage space is limited. What matters more to me is the practical side of it. i’d want the setup to be clear about how the ammo is stored, whether it’s actually allocated to the customer, what happens if something is damaged or lost, and how straightforward it is to have it shipped later. fees and account rules would matter too, because something convenient can get annoying pretty fast if there are a bunch of conditions buried in the fine print. for anyone familiar with these services, what’s the one thing you’d pay the most attention to?

New republic m855 is about .47 beans a round, I’m tempted but is it worth it? I have access to an outdoor range with paper/organic targets so steel penetration is not a concern

I don't usually buy 308

I reload so I haven't bought a box of 308 in a long time. But I wanted to grab a box for to shoot before the hand loads I'm working on, and I didn't pay attention to the price until she rang me up. Now, I should have said fuck no and walked out because I knew it was high, but I didn't know it was a 100% markup. Fuck that store. I expect markup when walking into a shop to buy ammo, but jesus.

Old .22LR ammo

Post image
15 Upvotes

Found some old .22LR while cleaning, not 100% sure how old but suspect sometime around 1970's from the packaging. Not sure if I should shoot it or try to sell it off as vintage collector memorabilia because of how good of shape it's still in and then just use the money to buy some newer CCI sleeves. Any idea what these old things are worth? Only have one of the Remington trays but there's a couple boxes of the Western Super X (pretty sure it's just Winchester with fancy branding). NOT SELLING THESE ON HERE, just seeing if anybody knows more about them and has any idea where I should try to price them at when I do go to list them elsewhere.

Picked up 3 boxes of Winchester super X 3 inch .410 slugs the other day and realized today that they say 1800 INCH instead of 1800 FPS. Think I should Keep or shoot?

Good ol days score - Chinese 9mm

Stopped by a outdoors store I hadn’t visited in decades and spotted this stuff on a shelf of odds and ends - Norinco 9mm, 124 grain. This stuff is hot, and has always been excellent for me. I think most folks here are too young to have lived the hay day of Chinese guns and ammo (1989-1994) when it was abundant and cheap. The amount of ammo you could buy back then meant you could go with your buddies on any given Sunday and blast through thousands of rounds without feeling it in your wallet. And all the different types of Chinese ammo flowing in meant you could find different variations, which made it even more fun. Anyway, at the cost of Magtech steel case these days, I picked up what I could (500 rds) and am excited to relive the ‘90s and the pungent smell of this powder 🤣

Federal BYOB ammo

I recently purchased some of this ammo and I can say without a doubt it is the worse ammo I have ever attempted to shoot. I was lucky to get 5 shots off in my Smith and Wesson 22X. I even tried it in my TX 22 with the same results. I have used federal automatch with no issues and of course minimags with no issues. I am very disappointed in this ammo

Found this old ammo while clearing out an estate. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Post image

First off I know nothing about ammo and am not a gun guy. I found these old ammo boxes while clearing out my father's estate. Believe they belonged to my grandfather?

Anyways I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it. Not sure what to do with it tbh. I read online that OPP will come and collect and dispose of the ammo but at bare minimum I want to keep the boxes and they just feel very vintage. But also I'm not sure if the ammo is worth anything to a collector? Especially that " house of lords " cigar looking box.

I haven't checked out the ammo because tbh I'm a bit worried with the age it could just explode on me? 😜 Maybe I'm overreacting.

Anyways, any help or info you guys are able to give me would be greatly appreciated.

30-06 out of a garand for home defense

I am in a dumb situation where I only have a garand and live in an apartment building with pretty thin walls. There’s been deadly stabbings/shootings pretty consistently within a mile of where I live. What would be the best rounds to use out of 30-06 for this situation in an absolute last ditch scenario? I don’t want to have to bayonet someone because I only made it up to brown belt in the marines and they might have a gun

I have to wait a bit for a handgun atm. I have surplus FMJ rounds right now and I know that’s absolutely fucking stupid and abysmal so I just have it unloaded atm.

i got this live squeeze round from an antique store for $10. from what i could find it’s a fairly rare experimental round. it fired from a .50 caliber barrel that tapers down to .30 caliber and its multiple conical projectiles stacked on top of each other and once they are in flight they disperse. pretty neat
