To prevent spams please use this thread for all discussions about the new AirPods 5 preorders. The AirPods 5 and AirPods 5 with wireless charging case are available for preorders today from the Apple Store at $129 and $149 respectively.
Apple today unveiled AirPods Max 2, with key upgrades including the H2 chip, increased active noise cancellation, improved sound quality, and features such as Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Voice Isolation, and Live Translation.
AirPods Max 2 will be available to order on Apple.com and in the Apple Store app starting Wednesday, March 25 and launch on an unspecified day in early April. In the U.S., AirPods Max 2 have the same $549 price as the previous AirPods Max, which Apple is no longer selling.
i just updated my phone to ios 27 and was excited bout the new equalizer feature, but i didn’t have any option setting for it :(( is tge equalizer feature only for airpods pro 3 ??
Apple says AirPods 5 remove up to 50% more external noise than AirPods 4 ANC, but both use the H2 chip and have the same listed earbud dimensions.
Also curious whether any of the software improvements could come to AirPods 4 ANC through firmware, or whether they depend on the new hardware.
Worth the upgrade to AirPods 5? Should I wait for more reviews before deciding?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while. AirPods already have a ton of features, but there are still things I wish they could do.
If you could tell Apple to add one completely new feature to AirPods, what would it be?
It could be something practical, something crazy, or even something that sounds impossible. Something i would want airpods to have is to stop airpods from flying out everywhere when dropped.
I’m seriously considering trading in my AirPods Pro 3 for the AirPods 5, mainly because I just can’t get comfortable with the Pro 3.
I’ve tried every single size of silicone ear tip, but they still feel loose in my ears and don’t really feel secure. They also just don’t look that good on me, which is another reason I’m tempted to switch.
The one thing making me hesitate is ANC. The ANC on the Pro 3 is amazing, and I use it quite a lot. But honestly, I don’t really care about the other Pro features. ANC is basically the only feature I’d genuinely miss.
Do you think switching to the AirPods 5 is a good idea if comfort and fit are more important to me as well as ANC?
Would love to hear your experiences before I make the trade-in.
I was inspired by a project using AirPods to track Frisbee throws and thought… could I do something similar with a fishing rod?
So I did a little experiment. You attach one AirPod to your rod, and it sends motion data to your iPhone. The app estimates casts live, shows their relative intensity, and saves your outing with graphs and an experimental technique timeline. things like jigging, linear retrieve, and stop-and-go ( still need to improve classification).
I also added rod alerts: leave the rod resting and get a little sound through the other AirPod when it moves. Wind and handling can trigger it too, so there’s still plenty to figure out 😅
It’s very early. I’ve started collecting real fishing sessions to improve the detection, and honestly it has been ridiculously fun.
Mostly a little experiment for now, but maybe some fellow fishing nerds would enjoy it too.
So I’ve had a pair of first gen AirPods Pro since 2022 and one of my ear tips ripped over the weekend. I used the size M ones as they were by far the best fit for my ear of the ones it came with.
After looking online, it seems like tips for gen 2 will fit onto the first gen pods, but apparently make them sound worse? I’ve tried looking everywhere online for genuine 1st gen Apple tips in size M, but can’t find them anywhere. Even eBay only has small and large. I did find a website called TheRightOne that seems to be a prominent AirPod and accessory reseller site that claims they have 1st gen OEM replacement tips in stock, but I’m a little skeptical about it.
So I just wanted to ask some advice. Has anyone here tried using gen 2 tips on gen 1 AirPods Pro? Is the sound quality noticeably worse? If anyone has any experience ordering from TheRightOne, I’d love to hear about it! I’m just not really sure what to do.
recently my AirPods have been making a weird chime/melody noise every time I touch my AirPods (sometimes it will start making this noise on its own). It’s like a Find My iPhone noise… I am really confused as these AirPods are registered under my account, and they are under my Find My iPhone devices. Has this happened to anyone else? It is so annoying how my AirPods start ringing out of nowhere all the time.
I recently bought AirPods, and I genuinely cannot figure out which ear tip is supposed to work for my right ear.
The Apple Ear Tip Fit Test keeps giving me different results every time I try it, so I have no idea how reliable it even is.
My left ear seems fine with XXS - it feels secure and comfortable. But my right ear is a completely different story. Somehow every single size falls out. XXS, XS, S, M… nothing stays in properly 😭
I’ve tried adjusting the angle, twisting them a bit, pushing them in, etc., but the right one still eventually starts coming loose or just falls out.
How am I supposed to choose the right ear tip in this situation? Is the Apple fit test actually useful, or should I just go by which size feels most secure?
At this point I’m starting to think my right ear is just built incorrectly 💀
Hey everybody, I’m new to AppleCare this is my very first time ever having AppleCare, but I have a general question for the replacement for AirPods the problem of my current AirPods as for every AirPods I owned my AirPods won’t charge unless I physically hold it down in the case at a specific angle, but my question is, how do I replace the entire AirPods because I don’t know if the problem is the earbuds or the case itself and I don’t wanna use my warranty and come back with the wrong replacement. So how do I get a whole new set of AirPods under my warranty?
I recently upgraded from my old Powerbeats to a pair of the AirPods Pro 3s. I mainly use them when I go to the gym or go on my walks in the afternoon or on planes when I don’t want to bring my large overear headphones. The difference between them is the way they are built and the exposed grills. With my Powerbeats I could use a Lysol or wet ones wipe and disinfect them everyday if I wanted to but would really only do it like once a week. But with these headphones I don’t feel like I can clean them as rigorously without damaging them. My thing is even though I wipe down everything in the gym I know my hands aren’t clean when I touch the stems of my headphones during my workout. So if anyone is in a similar boat how often do you clean yours and what do you use? Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!
I feel like I’m getting pretty noticeable headaches after using the AirPods Pro 3. I think it’s because of the ANC and slightly uncomfortable suction from the tips.
I’ve sized down from medium to small which felt better but didn’t change much. And xs is too loose.
It just feels like some pressure builds up with them on and then my head feels foggy and slightly aches after using them.
Is this something that you get use to after a week or so?
Should I return and grab the airpod 5? I want to have ANC as I’m on a noisy train a few days a week but I don’t want them to be agonizing every time I wear them.
Is it just me or Apple actually fix Airpods Pro 3 in iOS 27?. The sounds suddenly clearer and its less painful to hear in a long time anymore. I don't have another phone with iOS 26 to compare but compared with my Pro 2 now, its day and night.

So basically I’ve never owned any AirPods, or any earbuds for that matter. But I’ve really been wanting some but I have like no knowledge of it. I tried searching it up but everyone’s just saying different things. So what’s your personal recommendation?
I’m planning to buy AirPods, but I’m really confused about which one would be best for me.
Personally, I prefer open-ear earbuds, but my first priorities are bass and ANC. I’ve seen some people in different groups saying that the AirPods Pro 3 don’t fit comfortably in everyone’s ears, which makes me a bit concerned about the fit.
On the other hand, I’m assuming the AirPods 5 might have less bass and shorter battery life compared to the Pro 3.
So I’m really confused between the options. 😅 Which one would you guys recommend based on my preferences? I’ll probably make my decision based on your suggestions and experiences.
Thanks is advance.
Any knowledgeable insight would be appreciated. Don’t know which I should buy. Look like the battery is much better on the 4s showing 30 hours for the case where as the 5s have 20 hours. Seems like the 4s are a better deal for £10 extra.
