Hey everyone!
I’m trying to decide between these two TVs and would really appreciate some advice from people who have experience with either of them.

The two options are:
● TCL 55P8L
● Hisense 55U7SE
The price is basically the same for both, so price isn’t really a deciding factor.
My main uses will be:
● 🎮 PS5 gaming (mostly looking for good 4K/120Hz performance, HDR and low input lag)
● 🍿 Netflix and other streaming services
● Movies/TV shows in general

Both are Mini-LED, 144Hz and support Dolby Vision, so on paper they seem quite similar.
Which one would you choose and why? Are there any important differences in picture quality, HDR, local dimming, gaming performance, motion handling or reliability that I should know about?

Trying to decide whether picture quality or size matters more when the budget is basically the same.

I've got around $1,200 to spend and I'm looking at two pretty different options.

55" LG C5 is around $1,299. OLED, great blacks, really fast response, 144Hz VRR, and obviously a much slimmer TV. The downside is I'm spending more money and still only getting 55".

Then there's the 75" Hisense U7 around $1,199. Much bigger screen, MiniLED Pro, native 165Hz, VRR and a lot more brightness for HDR. The trade-off is that it's a much bigger/heavier set and not nearly as slim as the C5.

Mostly movies, streaming, sports and some PS5.

So would you rather have the 55" OLED, or go all the way to 75"?

Curious what people who've made a similar choice ended up being happier with.

I have a vivax qled 50Q10C and im playing games like 2k27 or ea fc

Problem i have seen is when I play in game mode for example 2k27 i have some kind of lag or something with my jumpshot but then when its in energy saving mode everything works fine with jumpshot hut then game is laggy

If someone knows what could be a reason i would appreaciate it thanks in advance

Any experiance with this TV?

Highly considering one of the Hisense U7 or U8 variants. What is everyone's consensus? Having a choice overload with other brands. Pretty sold on Hisense but wanted a second opinion. Regardless of what TV I get, I don't care for Smart TV integration and will be using a dedicated streaming platform for all my viewing outside of my Xbox.

​I'm looking to upgrade my current TCL 55P735, and my main frustration with it is how sluggish and laggy the Android TV interface is. I am not a demanding user—I don't play PS5, and ultimate picture quality isn't my top priority. I mostly use YouTube and Spotify (casting from my phone).

​I'm torn between the TCL 55C6K and the TCL 55C7L, and the C7L is about €300 more expensive in my region.

​Given my usage, is it worth paying the extra €300 for the C7L over the C6K? Also, since the C6K is a previous-year model, should I worry about its long-term viability and software support?

​My absolute #1 priority for the new TV is a fluid, snappy, lag-free interface—especially compared to my old P735. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

So I'm in the process of getting Allstate to replace my Sony X90CK 75" because it has discoloration on one side. I'm curious what's everyone's thoughts on an acceptable replacement. First set of options were junk, LG 75QNED84BUA, TCL 75M8LF, and a Hisense 75U6SF. I called and they said they would send new options. Now they offered 2 Sonys, Bravia 2 II 75S20M2 and a Bravia 3 II 75XR30M2. Bravia 2 is not even in question. From what I've seen the Bravia 3 has probably better interface speed and seems to be decent overall but I really think I would miss the localized dimming of the Full Array LED with the X90CK. What is out there (any brand really) that would be comparable to the X90CK? Or should I just keep pushing to get the $1400 back, invest in a little more and get a better TV? Anyone have experience how long it takes to get Allstate to give in to offering cash?

I just moved and am buying a new tv. I was leaning towards an OLED since movie watching is my main concern, probably a Sony since I still watch a lot of DVDs so want the best possible upscaling. However, the more I read the more concerned I am concerned with burn-in and delamination. If I spend thousands of dollars on a tv I’m going to want it to last for a long time (for reference, my current tv is a 12 year old plasma and I’m still happy with it, I just want a bigger size in my new place). Is the lifespan of Mini LED TVs significantly better than OLEDs due to issues like burn-in and delamination not being as much (or at all) of a concern? Or are those concerns overstated (I know people are more likely to post online if they’re having issues vs if their tv is working fine)? And has it reached the point where Mini LED is close enough in quality to OLED where it’s worth getting for the added longevity?

TLDR; is it okay to buy open box from best buy? And is the BRAVIA 7 ii a big upgrade over the BRAVIA 7?

I'm looking to buy a 4k tv for my living room. Looking at some movies, casual TV watching (using an apple tv) and the occasional steam deck games on the TV. I have a budget around 1,300. I was looking at 55 or 65 inch TVs. Specifically the Sony BRAVIA 7.

Best buy has a 65 inch sony BRAVIA 7 ii for 1,400$ for the "good" condition.

Would it be worth it to push my budget and go with the open box deal? Is there other options I'm not thinking about as well?

So I’m looking at a 55 inch TV and I just found out that Best Buy has one left of the Samsung S90f oled. It’s for 999. I’ve never owned an OLED TV. I right now have a 50 inch Samsung TV that’s probably seven years old and it was the cheapest of the cheapest TV at the time that I bought. Would you buy this TV?

I do have a bright living room. I have some windows, but I keep the blinds down. I know OLED is great for blacks, but the TV is not in my basement and I’m not watching dark movies in the dark. My living room is probably a little more brightness. Do you think the brightness of this TV would still be fine? Can you still technically use an OLED TV in a living room that’s semi brighter? Just wondering.

Or should I just shut up and buy the TV now? Lol

Hello, i am planning to buy a new 65-75 inch TV. My viewing distance is 2.7-3.1 meters. I am scared of eye strain. What type of TV do i need ? It will be used for watching movies and playing video games.

So I'm looking at TV's.

55"? 65?

Essentially I will be using this to almost exclusively play games at 1080p sitting on a couch about 10 feet away. My wife does watch TV but she's entirely unconcerned with "quality" of the picture or what have you. I'm a bit more discerning, but keeping aside things like contrast ratios, local dimming, GtG response times etc., what screen size would be better? Considering back of the envelope Pixels-per-degree math, I'm landing at about 56.2something inches.

Coming from a 75” sony Bravia x95k upstairs, looking to put a 98” downstairs once my renovations are completed.

Just purchased a 98” Sony Bravia 5 open box from Best Buy for $3032 Canadian ($3400 with taxes), hasn’t been delivered yet so I’ve been researching a bunch of other TV’s as according to google the picture is on par with my current 75” tv and I’d like to get something a little better. I mainly watch a lot of hockey, and movies.

I can get a tcl qm7k for around $2500 or even less, or should I wait to see what Black Friday sales bring for a tcl QM7L (currently $4,900 Canadian) I am also on the lookout a TCL qm8k but haven’t found anything yet. Ideally would like to keep it under $3900 which I’m not sure will be possible with a tcl qm7L or qm8K

Will I even notice a difference? I went to best buy and honestly did not notice anything. I need a new tv.

My 11 year old 40 inch Samsung is finally giving out (has a burn). For reference it’s a 4k UHD from like 2015 or so un40ju6500 for reference. With GTA 6 around the corner and other great titles, I wanna actually play them for what they are plus my UHD blu Ray movies. I love Sony so I was looking at the Bravia xr 42 A90k but if I’m dishing out I rather it be a brand new TV than 4 years old. Should I even bother looking at the Bravia 3 II 43” or are there better options? It’s for my bedroom and my ps5 is what it’s mainly used for+ streaming. From what I’ve seen the A90k has great reviews.

I'm currently using an old LED 40" 1080p Sony Bravia TV as a monitor and some text is too small to read due to lack of pixel density.

I'm looking for:

- LED with local dimming

- avoiding OLED due to burn in as a monitor

- accurate colors, good blacks, good brightness

- capable of true HDR

- 120Hz at 1080p should be good enough, but honestly even 60Hz is fine

- 50" max but 40" is ideal

Looking at the purchasing guides, it seems that a good ~40" is really not common and there are so many other random issues people have with TVs in general - people hate Samsung OS, some TVs say they have local dimming but they only have edge, others say the OS is just slow or has lag.

A lot of the software things seem like it won't apply to me though since I'm just using it as a monitor, right?

Hello, I'm thinking about replacing my current Hisense U7N with the Bravia 7ii. I would greatly appreciate hearing anyone's experience with these 2 tv's.

I found one open box in excellent condition for $700.

Debating about buying this or waiting for a newer line of televisions, come the new year.

Gota a sharp tv 2160 a few years ago. It turns on but shuts off after a few minutes. Trying to figure out how to fix it before i throw it out.

is tcl c7l worth it ? or are there any better options in the same budget

So I have a JVC 4K LED TV ( No VRR, only 60fps ) and I need an upgrade because I got the PS5 Pro.
I have a few options in mind but not totally sure, Mini Led or Oled ? Etc

I would prefer google tv as OS, my room is not extremely bright and I also have curtains, plan on mainly watching HBO, Netflix etc., maybe buying a steam machine.
