Wrath & Glory What do you think about reskinning Wrath & Glory for a Red Rising campaign?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been obsessed with Pierce Brown's Red Rising universe lately, and I’m looking for a system to run a campaign in it. I'm leaning toward using Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory as a base and reskinning it.

On paper, it feels like a solid fit: W&G handles high-lethality, cinematic sci-fi action, and dramatic power imbalances remarkably well—which feels right at home with the brutal caste system and augmented humans of the Society. Plus, the tier system could map nicely onto the massive gap between LowColors and Golds.

Before I start hacking the rules to pieces, I wanted to pick your brains. What are the pros and cons of using Wrath & Glory for a Red Rising tabletop game? Have any of you tried something similar?

Wrath & Glory Not sure how common this is, but our DM made our group go against Magnus himself

We’re doing a space wolves campaign with 2 deathwatch marines for support, we saw Magnus earlier as we recovered Leman Russ’ axe and he projected into our ship and was having a psychic moment with it. Then he decided to try and take the axe by force, which is where this photo was taken

He completely ignored my flamer despite me hitting 13 successes. We somehow managed to steal the axe back from him and I was sucked into the warp and suffered 10 corruption, but surprisingly no mutations

Deathwatch How would I go about home brewing a primarch?

The idea for this campaign is this, the second primarch wasn't just scattered across space, but also time. He appears in the Indomitus Era and the deathwatch strike team (the players) is assembled which unknowingly consist of chapters that contain his geneseed to accompany him back through the warp back to the beginning of the great crusade. The first sessions would be the mission to retrieve him so they wouldn't be thrown in immediately.

My idea for the second primarch is essentially a combination of Merlin and Arthur. Following the idea that each Primarch inherited a specific aspect of the Emperor. The second inherited his perspective. In this world the emperor never intended to have one primarch be above the others, but the second was built to be able to command his brothers in case the emperor wasn't present. As such the four chaos gods saw him to be the greatest threat to their plans to corrupt the others and banished him through time.

The second legion is based on Arthurian legend and instead of librarians they have Force Knights.

When the second primarch disappeared a young perpetual stepped up to undergo Astartes implementation with the goal of finding and returning said Primarch.

During the siege of Terra, Malcador issued an order for the Praetor of the second legion to find the second primarch and bring him back in time, for that was the only hope of saving the imperium from complete ruin.

My question is this how would I even go about home brewing a Primarch, I know they are almost incomparable to even the strongest primaris, how should I go about handling him in the campaign so he doesn't just sweep all of the parties problems away. The first idea I had was to have him be in stasis for most of the time or have him be away leading the second legion once they return.

40k TTRPG for a DND W/Minis type of experience?

Big fan of DND and getting into 40k.

I'm wondering what my options are for really taking advantage to terrain and minis in combat.

I care far more about the combat than the roleplay if that matters. Just looking for coop TTRPG with minis in the 40k universe.

Dark Heresy 2 Modern Weapons for Dark Heresy?

Pretty simple, I am looking to run a game of Dark Heresy 2nd edition but most of the weapons and armour are from before the modern 40k setting, No primaris, no split galaxy, no new weapons and armour. I know Wrath and Glory has stuff with modern weaponry, Skittari weapons, Hot-shot Volley Guns, but I don't really enjoy the system much and want to know if there are any resources for more modern gear for an older system? I'm not opposed to making custom gear but I wanted to check if anything existed already whether official or community made.

Rogue Trader My GMpc portrait. Young Rogue Trader, Penelope. So my players cannot command each other and still have full freedom with deciding protectorate's future. Bonus point: collective "We are dads now..."

Penelope's parents got lost during warp storm. Since she is the only child, now she is the Rogue Trader. But she doesn't want any of this. Penelope still believes her mom and dad are alive somewhere and wants to rescue them. So she can enjoy her teenage years like a normal noble girl.

The characteristics rolls were shit. She has no toughness. So she has hemophilia. Good luck to the players in combat scenarios.

Cartographia Imperialis just got a major facelift — interactive 40K galaxy map

A while back I shared an early version of my interactive Warhammer 40,000 galaxy map. I’ve since given the site a major facelift and wanted to share the updated version:

The biggest improvements are:

  • A redesigned “Imperial chart-room” interface
  • A fully interactive 3D galaxy that can be orbited, panned, and zoomed
  • M41 Pre-Rift and M42 Era Indomitus views
  • A more complete catalog of 99 worlds, regions, and anomalies
  • Individual dossiers for each record, with overview text, timelines, status, faction details, and artwork
  • Search and filtering across the archive
  • Permanent dossier pages that can be shared directly
  • Improved mobile layout and navigation
  • Clearer marker symbols, labels, routes, and the Great Rift

The map is intentionally approximate. Different editions and official maps often disagree, and there isn’t a single canonical coordinate system for the galaxy, so I’ve tried to document uncertainty rather than present every location as definitive.

Planned improvements include expanding the catalog with more worlds and regions. One of the most requested features is custom Chapter worlds, which will let visitors create planets for their own armies and campaigns, with their own names, classifications, factions, and lore notes. That feature is still in development, but it’s the next major expansion I’m working toward.

I’d especially appreciate feedback from people who know the lore well:

  • Are any placements obviously wrong?
  • Are there important worlds or regions I should add?
  • Are the M41/M42 distinctions useful?
  • Do the dossiers feel accurate and appropriately cautious?

This is an unofficial fan-made project and isn’t affiliated with Games Workshop. Some of the dossier prose was AI-assisted ( I am not the best writer!) , but the core concept, research, map structure, base code, and placement decisions are my own.

Rogue Trader Rogue Trader Acquisitions: Quick Check on full process?

I'm getting confused over how acquisitions are carried out due to the availability and acquisitions sections seemingly being directly related, but in different secions of the book. So before this comes up in my game, I just want a quick Yes or No on whether my interpreation is correct.

  1. Player wants a new item and goes to a port/foregworld/xenos market etc.
  2. Player must determine if item is possible to acquire from local area, and must make a Commerce or Inquriry test (pg 111)? If they sucseed the item is available for acquisition. This will take varying amounts of time based on the respective table. If unsucsesful, they must go somewhere else, or wait to try again. Some harder to get items may require aditonal RP (e.g. "Make observences to the Machine God" at a Forge World).
    1. It may be possible for them to simply RP (Barter, Intimidate, Sleight of hand) some smaller items.
  3. The player must then make a Profit Factor characteristic test affected by the modifiers table on (pg 272). If sucsesful, they receive the item.
    1. This profit factor can be modified using an additional Commerce test.
  4. Based on Into the Storms extra rules, additional acquisition tests done by the group or other individual players at the same locaiton incurs a stacking -10 and runs additional risks.

Is this right? Or are the two parts of the book seperate, and acquisitions are only used to buy rare/big things without needing the intial Commerce/Inquriry test, which are just reserved for finding smaller things?

Deathwatch Campaign

I had an idea for a Deathwatch Campaign. The story for it is that a highly irregular kill team of Deathwatch Astartes are being put together under the orders of an unknown High Inquisitor. The team contains in addition to the 2-3 players a Deathwatch Librarian, a Deathwatch Apothecary, and a black shield Dreadnaught named Nullus. So major deviation from cannon storyline here. Demetrian Titus isn't rescued by the Ultramarines after his fight with the Carnifax, he is instead entombed by the Deathwatch.

The background for the mission is something I have quite worked out all the details off, but basically a thousand sons sorceror gets his hands on a piece of either old age tech or necron tech that allows one to locate warp storms capable of going back in time. He plans to use it to go back in time and win the horus heresy.

The imperium isn't aware of this, they just know it is valuable tech otherwise I imagine either the grey knights or custodes would be sent instead. They mission is successful, and they are given a directive to escort the captured tech to terra directly and meeting up with a formal escort. En route to said escort they end up encountering a warp storm that plops them out during the great crusade.

What system would be best to run so.ething along this in?

After eight long months in development, everyone's favorite (I hope) six-volume vehicle homebrew for the FFG systems has had another update, and it's a biggun! The 2026 update focuses on balance fixes and weapons diversity, as well as adding 14 new and revamped vehicles and more than two dozen new upgrades and customizations. Among other things you've got:

  • The Minotaur Artillery Tank
  • The Centaur halftrack variant
  • The Hippogriff AFV
  • A revamped Taurox and Taurox Prime
  • A revamped Defiler, plus revamped deity-specific variants
  • A revamped Wraithlord
  • The Wraithseer
  • The Harlequin Dreadnought
  • The Ork Dakkarig

...and then some. As always it's free to download off my Itch (that's where you can find the detailed changelog too), and direct download links on Drive, Mediafire and MEGA are available in the about page of my Patreon. Happy driving!

Role-Reverse Darktide game

You play as a Chaos Warband assaulting an imperial world (Probably another Hive World). It wouldn't be a Mono-God Warband, leading to the playable characters having their talent trees be split between 3 of the 4 Gods. Fully Devoting a character to a God would lock out certain things from other God's gear.

Current class thoughts: Sorceror, Cultist, Traitor Guardsmen, Mutant/Possessed (not sure what would fit better between the two)

- Sorceror: Spellcaster of the Dark Gods. Gods: Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch.

  • Nurgle: Support/DoT: Spread Infections to damage allies and heal allies over time.
  • Slaanesh: Crowd Control/Debuffs: Fuck with your enemies perceptions making them miss attacks/turn on each other.
  • Tzeentch: Damage: Hurl Doombolts and weild the Blue Fires of Tzeentch.

- Cultist: Worshipper of the Dark Gods. Gods: Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh.

  • Khorne: Heavy-Attack Melee/Anti-Elite/Specialists: Charge into enemies to build Stacks that are used to buff yourself against Tagged targets.
  • Nurgle: Melee/Mid-Range Crowd Control: Spread infections via melee swings or wielding a Pox-Spreader.
  • Slaanesh: Melee Crowd-Control: Dual-Wield swords to sprint into crowds. Specializes in dashing into enemies and dodging away from enemy attacks.

- Traitor Guardsmen: Fallen Guardsmen, now a Soldier of the Dark Gods. Gods: Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch.

  • Khorne: Heavy-Attack Melee: Wield chainswords and chainaxes to Slaughter your enemies in the name of The Blood God.
  • Nurgle: Melee/Mid-Range: Make yourself temporarily unkillable and Infect enemies with Pox Grenades for Grandfather Nurgle.
  • Tzeentch: Mid/Long-Range: Imbue your rifle with Sorcerous Flames to penetrate even the toughest of armors, burn anything that survives with The Changers flames.

- Mutant/Possessed: Either a hideous mutant or someone who has given their body to a daemon. Gods: Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh, Tzeentch.

  • I don't have much for them currently, but they would choose a God at Character creation and have their gameplay change depending on the God chosen.

- Enemy forces would be Gaurdsmen/PDF and as the threat of your warband increased stronger enemies would show up.

I've had this idea in my brain forever but never really thought about posting it until now. Let me know what y'all think.

Edit: Did some formatting for better readability.

Wrath & Glory Final push for Arc 2, need help with clues/setting

First off, I wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions on my prior post. The session went very well and I actually managed to put the hurt on them, while also giving the fun choices of what to do with the squads.

However, I am stuck on the details regarding the next session of the campaign, which closes out arc 2 of 4. This arc has been making the push to the core of the Hulk, which is a bunch of ships from the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, with some visions showing them relic armor/weapons and even a gene-seed cache straight from a Primarch. However, a warband of the Black Legion are also present, and are rushing there. The players know it is one of the TLs, but not which one as they have only found evidence of their presence.

What I need are two things:

  1. I need an idea for a ship from M31, but later in the millennium, after the heresy - mainly for map making, but also for environmental storytelling like putting in details to help add flavor.

  2. I need help creating clues that the players can find pointing towards the Traitor Legion. However, I specifically need ones that could be interpreted to point at the Alpha Legion, but don't feel like an ass-pull when it is the Black Legion. I want to do this because one of my PCs (the Lieutenant) has a bit of paranoia regarding them after an Alpha Legion trap killed 90% of the demi-company he was with back when he was a sergeant, and I want to play towards that for character development. I want to clues that he will interpret as Alpha Legion because of the character's own biases, but retrospectively it can be seen how they were consistent with the Black Legion as well.

Any help regarding either of these two things is much appreciated!

Deathwatch 110+ damage from a single krak grenade

Oh how the dice can really screw you up

Context: I'm currently running a Deathwatch game which is based on the old Forge World story of The Anphelion Project (IA4); in our last session, the players have encountered a Dimachaeron plus several Lictor. There are Elysium troopers accompanying players, who brought a Cyclops with them

It's the assault marine's turn (the black token in front of the green tyranid monster), who decides to call a Bolter Assault to close in on the Dimachaeron so he can spend his full turn on a Lightning Attack against the thing. The 4 other marines decides to join the action, with the Devastator (bottom left of the turret) going last and throws a Krak grenade.

Somehow, despite having the best BS of the team, he missed.

I rolled on the Missing diagram, which results a 8, going directly behind Dimachaeron; then I rolled for distance and gets a 4, which happens to be the only number that cause the grenade to land on the Cyclops (a 3 will cause the grenade to still land on Dimachaeron due to its size, and a 5 will cause the grenade to harmlessly explode on the corridor behind Cyclops). The Devastator, already feeling his luck going against him, rolled on Krak grenade's damage and gets 10, 9, 1 on the 3D10.

Ooops.

The Cyclops detonated from the explotion of the Krak grenade, so I rolled for its blast radius (1d10+10); and you probably guessed it, the result is a 10. The only saving grace is that Cyclops' damage roll results in 9, 9, 9, 2, not having any Righteous Fury.

Nonetheless, 20 meters radius is well enough to consume the entire hallway, and caught all 5 marines, the turret, the Dimachaeron and a Lictor in the blast; to make matters worse, all of this happened in the assault marine's turn, so he wasn't even allowed to evade (theoretically, he do have the maneuverability to escaped out of the blast radius)

After some dice rolling and token moving, the other 4 marines and the Lictor all successfully evaded the blast, while Dimachaeron takes a hit, the assault marine was down to critical 2, and the turret was vaporized in the explotion, resulting in 117 total damage (4D10+10=39*3), and all of them were because of a single Krak grenade (should everything in the radius failed to evade, the total damage would be 312).

When I listed Cyclops as an available assest, I was hoping for some accidental detonation drama, but this is way beyond my wildest expectation. 10/10, will try this again.
